deporting people whose ONLY crime is being on this soil at this point is. Now, if they are EITHER otherwise breaking the law in any way even if it is something for which a citizen or even legal resident would do little or no time for think petti shoplifting or even a traffic violation then OK deport them if they are using public resources ( not like schools) but like food stamps, Medicaid systems like that OK deport them, but if their only crime is being here and they are paying taxes and not using public resources then tracking them down and spending money to deport them while losing those taxes really makes no sense. Now, that does not mean I do not support tight border controls going from here on out.Enforcing the law is a waste of resources? They are deported because that is what the law prescribes. Ask Barack Hussein Obama who deported more people than any other modern president. Was he wasting resources?
8 U.S. Code § 1325 - Improper entry by alien
(a)Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection; misrepresentation and concealment of factsAny alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.During the Biden administration (January 20, 2021, to January 20, 2025), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recorded approximately 10–11 million nationwide migrant encounters. These include apprehensions between ports of entry, inadmissibles at ports, and expulsions under Title 42 (a public health measure used until May 2023).
That isn't what US Code1325 says - if we do not like the code - then let's change it - not ignore it. It's a slippery slope - when the populace determines what laws are followed and which ones are not - it negates the rule of law.deporting people whose ONLY crime is being on this soil at this point is.
I'd like to address this - speaking of Illegal Aliensbut if their only crime is being here and they are paying taxes
So how do they pay income taxes?
Have you never had a job?If they're working for a company with a payroll system, the company still has to deduct payroll taxes. And, obviously, they pay sales taxes.
They would still be paying sales tax if nothing else which is really the fairest kind of tax, anyway.I'd like to address this - speaking of Illegal Aliens
Because they are here illegally - they cannot
Because you have to be legal to get any of those.
- Obtain Work VISA's
- Obtain Green Cards
- Obtain Social Security numbers.
So how do they pay income taxes?
Thanks for your opinion - but they DO NOT pay into the system. That my friend, is the weakest excuse I have heard. They are illegal aliens, they do not pay into the federal tax system. They would still be paying sales tax if nothing else which is really the fairest kind of tax, anyway.
I am pretty sure they doThanks for your opinion - but they DO NOT pay into the system. That my friend, is the weakest excuse I have heard. They are illegal aliens, they do not pay into the federal tax system.
Based on what? Not taxes from wages as already shown - not on State sales tax - what's the basis for your 'pretty sure'?I am pretty sure they do
One thing is that I have an older friend that I trust that used to work at one of the tax preparetion places several years back who they had illegals come in all the time. When she asked them why they paid taxes from which they could not benefit they said that when Reagan did his amnesty he required that people had a clean record and paid taxes; therefore if Obama, this was right around the time he took office did the same thing they wanted to prove they had pulled their weight. The other one is that my late grandfather hired them to work on his farm and when they complained about taxes being taken out my grandmother explained that she had to under the law. Now, we argue all day long that my family and others should not hire illegals, however, the fact is it is tough to get Americans to work those manual out in the heat jobs and even if it was not the issue in this post was about my claim that they pay taxes not about whether Americans are willing to work those type jobsBased on what? Not taxes from wages as already shown - not on State sales tax - what's the basis for your 'pretty sure'?
Not legally. Generally the labor contractors provide them.Have you never had a job?
Work Documents: What Do You Need for Employment in the US?
When onboarding a new employee, there are several documents employers need to process and keep on file. Here are the work documents you need to collect from new employees:
- Proof of identification
- I-9 form
- W-4 form
NONE of which an Illegal Alien has or can get.An aside: If you regard sales tax as part of the tax system that people pay into - you should fully support the top 1% because they pay more sales tax.
I think that something like a speeding ticket shouldn't result in a deportation for such a person.deporting people whose ONLY crime is being on this soil at this point is. It is the penalty for crossing the border is deportationI think that something like a speeding ticket shouldn't result in a deportation for such a person.
You do realize there are other ways to file taxes than through your employer, right? Even if you're a drug dealer working exclusively in cash, you can (and legally have to) still file a tax return. The IRS doesn't care how you get your money or whether you're in the country legally.Have you never had a job?

As an absolute number, possibly. As a percentage of their income, absolutely not. Sales tax is a poor way to tax the rich because rich people don't actually buy all that much stuff. On average, the top 1% pays about 1% of their income in sales tax. The bottom 20% pays about 7% of their income, and everyone else averages about 5%.An aside: If you regard sales tax as part of the tax system that people pay into - you should fully support the top 1% because they pay more sales tax.

You are joking right?Have you never had a job?
The company gives you blank I-9s and W-4s to fill out.
It's not hard to get the forms.
Now if E-verify were mandatory, they might have more impact.
No, you spoke of being unable to 'get' these forms. Obviously that's not a problemYou are joking right?
You may have to sit down for this, but they may use false information. How do you fill out an I-9 or W-4 without a Social security number -
