  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Biden FBI Spied on Eight Republican Senators as Part of Arctic Frost Investigation, Grassley Oversight Reveals

WASHINGTON – An explosive FBI documentobtained by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) reveals the FBI targeted eight Republican senators’ personal cell phones for “tolling data” as part of its Arctic Frost investigation. One Republican member of the House of Representatives was also impacted. The Arctic Frost investigation formed the basis of Jack Smith’s elector case against President Donald Trump.

If the FBI believed (correctly) that then former President Trump was engaged in criminal activity to overturn an election, then they had every right to tap the phones of the "suspects"/co-conspirators. I am more concerned about the crimes committed then the investigation process.

"Just say it was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican congressmen,” --Trump

Meaning, just lie and say the election was corrupt (because it wasn't) and that will give me, Trump, and some not named Republican Congressmen the rational to try to keep Trump in power after the 2020 lost replete with an attack on the Capital.

So well yeah. Jack Smith wanted to understand who and which Republican Congressmen where clued in on the scheme.

If you aren't concerned about investigation process then you aren't concerned about justice. Let me repeat that. If you aren't concerned about investigation process then you aren't concerned about justice. Investigation process is critical to the rule of law. Otherwise you get the rule of whoever has the power. You have to choose 'Rex Lex' or 'Lex Rex'. Under one you can imprison and execute anyone of the opposition for anything you want. Under the other the law can be followed impartially and there is the possibility of justice.

Old news (note the date on the article) which has already been discussed. Any reason why we're bringing it back up again?

To the point, I don't see what's so scandalous about this. There was a suspected federal crime. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was investigating said federal crime. They properly requested and obtained warrants for cell phone data related to that investigation, and once they had those warrants, they exercised them. The only information they sought was who was calling who, when, and where. They did not ask for or receive the contents of those calls.

I understand that some people are upset because a Democratic administration sought these warrants against Republican congressmen, but that alone does not constitute a scandal - should lawmakers who do not belong to the President's party be immune from federal investigation so long as he is in office? I would hope that no one believes that. If a Democratic lawmaker is suspected of committing a crime (or being involved in one) during the course of Trump's presidency, I would hope that they are investigated according to the proper legal processes.

One would hope justice is blind. Doesn’t always seem to be the case.

Biden FBI? Seriously?

Give me a break. Biden didn't appoint Chris Wray to head the FBI. Donald Trump did.

You have earned a 500 point deduction for attempting to challenge the narrative.

As Jack Smith said about similar circumstances...

"President Trump and his associates tried to call Members of Congress in furtherance of their criminal scheme, urging them to further delay certification of the 2020 election.”

“I didn’t choose those Members," Smith added, “President Trump did.”

I’d like to point out that the corruption trial of Bob Menendez (D-NJ) happened under a D President.

Given that the investigation was never finished, I don't know how you could possibly come to that conclusion.
It was finished enough to get an indictment from a federal grand jury on the ex-president.

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska)
Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.)
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.)
Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.)
Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.)
Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.)

Without much effort, I can link all but two to Trump's scheme to reject legitimate electors and substitute fake electors.

Ron Johnson now says he helped coordinate effort to pass false elector slates to Pence

After initially claiming to be "basically unaware" of an effort by his staff to get fake presidential elector documents to Vice President Mike Pence, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson said Thursday he coordinated with a Wisconsin attorney to pass along such information and alleged a Pennsylvania congressman brought slates of fake electors to his office — a claim that was immediately disputed.

But he said in a Thursday interview on WIBA-AM that he had since discovered the documents came from Pennsylvania U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, and acknowledged he coordinated with Dane County attorney Jim Troupis and his chief of staff by text message that morning to get to Pence a document Troupis described as regarding "Wisconsin electors."

Kelly's office immediately pushed back on Johnson's claim, saying: "Senator Johnson's statements about Representative Kelly are patently false."

---

Nearly a dozen Republican senators and senators-elect led by Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said Saturday they will reject electors from certain states won by President-elect Joe Biden, citing unsubstantiated allegations of voter fraud and calling for an emergency 10-day audit of the results, an unprecedented attempt to thwart the Democratic process.

Apparently, over 60 lost or thrown out court cases just isn't enough for Ted Cruz and his democracy doubting cohorts:

Sens. Ron Johnson (Wis.)
James Lankford (Okla.)
Steve Daines (Mont.)
John Neely Kennedy (La.)
Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.)
Mike Braun (Ind.)
Sens.-elect
Cynthia M. Lummis (Wyo.)
Roger Marshall (Kan.)
Bill Hagerty (Tenn.)
Tommy Tuberville (Ala.)
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.)

Yet, on January 6th, 2021, all those Senators did in fact certify Biden's election. Then, later on, the Biden administration became the very worst in my lifetime.
