  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The order obviously only applies to Venezuela
Yes, Trump made that known about his 'illicit fentanyl' termination strategy. Yet you chose to falsely or maliciously include hospitals in that net --while you knew hospitals have legal permission to administer fentanyl.

Did @Hans Blaster or @BPPLEE or @DaisyDay send you to make that flagrant claim against the US President??

even though they play no role in the distribution of fentanyl. They just are an opportune target for oil raids.
You didn't answer the question. Although you did ensure to make yet another false claim against Trump's intentions. And, now I feel so sad for you or any other "Americans" who give the appearance of protecting narco terrorists from Trump’s exec order.

I didn't say thousands of people dying is "no biggie"....and stop implying otherwise, Servus.

How many of those 350,000 deaths will be prevented by delcaring a drug as a weapon of mass destruction?
I'm going by overall comments and attitudes expressed across the board. There seems to be great resistance to an aggressive proactive stance against fentanyl and other illegal drugs coming into the US.

If you think that's crazy, you should see how some people act when it comes to the existence of pronouns.
Yeah, they really flip out when you don't use their preferred pronoun.

Fentanyl isn't killing "as many as 350,000 Americans per year". About 90,000 to 110,000 Americans die per year from drug overdoses of all kinds.
My bad. As many as 350k is over a period of about 5 years. Which I wrote originally. But obviously I got my wires crossed later on.

Yeah, they really flip out when you don't use their preferred pronoun.
That hasn't been my experience. The people I know who have preferred pronouns simply politely state that preference when it's needed, and if the preference is not respected, simply shrug it off, or, at worst, choose not to interact with that other person. I've never, not even once, met anyone who would "flip out" if their preferred pronouns were not being respected.

Maybe you have different experiences, I can't say...but I still suspect those who "flip out" are very much in the minority.

-- A2SG, people are different, ya know....

Why are you ignoring what your government is telling you about the sources of fentanyl?

Did you not read those links? They're very clear and very specific about where it comes from. Don't you trust them to tell you the truth?

Im against the drug war nonsense entirely, this latest incarnation with extrajudicial killings and looming military intervention is getting all my least favorite US polices together.

I disagree. The proactive stance is NOT against fentanyl --it's against Trump!
You can trust, if it was Obama/Biden/Kamala taking this exact same approach as Trump, 99% of these critics would instead be silent and complaining about nothing. Just like they stayed silent toward Biden's inaction RE: fentanyl! lol

Want proof??

Check this website's archives for how anti-Trumpists treated Biden when his Administration took miniscule action against Fentanyl

Did it occur to you that some of us are for effective drug interdiction methods. Blowing boats out of the water while making no effort to interdict, interrogate and prosecute is a fundamental violation of our values.

Now, can you answer the question?

How many of those 350,000 deaths will be prevented by delcaring a drug as a weapon of mass destruction?

It's not like the WMDs have to be in the country, or exist, for the US to invade because of them.
hmmm... Did Trump learn this philosophy from Obama's RELENTLESS bombings of Yemen Afghanistan and Pakistan?!!!

The WMD pretense harks back to Bush the younger however he may get the Obama era accomplishment of bombing a noble peace prize recipient.

I realize that being honest and truthful regarding anything "Trump" is often frowned upon by Liberal-Democrats, but... considering how Politico is a Liberal Democrat 'wrag'??? Then, if even they can be honest about Trump and Fentanyl --then every Trump critic should be:

Nothing seems to have been very effective so far. Certain people want no action whatsoever to take place. Except increased enabling welfare to drug addicts.
Now, can you answer the question?
That remains to be seen. Why is there so much protesting over fentanyl being called a weapon of mass destruction? I mean other that the usual "because Trump".

It's like the old saying goes. If Trump lead the fight against cancer, certain people would object to it. There would be pro-cancer protests.

IOW, you're here to throw spitballs and falsely imply other members posting here "want no action whatsoever to take place" and want to enable welfare to drug addicts.

Let me know when you are interested in having a discussion based on what I and others write here....not what you imagine.
