  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Trump signs executive order classifying fentanyl as a ‘weapon of mass destruction’

I find this whole thing rather meaningless. Trump cuts funding for addiction treatment programs to cover the tax cuts, and then makes this rather meaningless proclamation.
It’s not meaningless. There is a section of the popn that are legitimately pacified when they judge and see punished sections of society they view as reprobate.

Trump at once retards the transition of addicts to productive members of society and trumpets the active punishment of a underclass to pacify the masses.

Then same happens with the wrong ethnicities, religions, politics, sexualities the list goes on.

The important thing is to make the masses ignore the fact that other countries have it far better by letting them revel in the vilification of the artificially constructed underclass.

Sure, sure. Birds of a feather and all that.

What's your excuse for Larry Hoover clemency? Or Ross Ulbrict that ran the black market Silk Road drug exchange where he facilitated the sale of illegal fentanyl?
How does Trump's stated reason for pardoning the former president of Honduras become my excuse? As for the other two, I'd have to look up Trump's stated reason for pardoning them. Would you like me to do that for you?

Best leave the WMD designation where it was intended and not start expanding it to cover every dangerous thing.
I confidently expect libraries to be the next American WMD.

What if it was Anthrax? Remember the post 9/11 terrorist anthrax concerns? Fentanyl is a lethal chemical. An amount that fits onto a sharpened pencil tip will kill you. So lets compare it to lethal chemical weapons, which is the category it falls under the most. Rather than making ridiculous comparisons.

The so-called abolitionists can be said to have had their own brand of slavery. Like how they tried to enslave southerners into emancipating their slaves
Using the way-way-back machine to address current affairs, eh?

How much should the government be spending on it? How many government funded rehab centers are needed?

But that's just a stepping stone to achieving the massive conspiracy to genocide everyone Trump doesn't like, right?

How much is the current interdiction in the Caribbean costing? Let's go with that same amount.

Being in the financial regulatory environment I wonder what this Executive Order might do from that perspective. I anticipate FinCEN creating another Key Term to add to reports when they are filed.

With the flurry of activity against these supposed narcotic laden boats in the Caribbean I have not seen, at least not yet, and increase in subpoena and government inquiries on the possible financial transactions related to the potential drug trafficking. Time will tell.

Has anyone ever made fentanyl into an actual WMD?

What I see is people dying from it one at a time just like they do with gunshots - which are just as lethal as fentanyl.

Do you agree with Trump's stated reason? I can clearly read what he wrote. I'm interested in what you think though cause we're on this forum and Trump is not. So, what about it? Do you feel like Trump's stated position on fentanyl and his clemency actions regarding known fentanyl drug dealers and criminals are in conflict?

For me, that wins the award for the most incorrect post of the month.
You must have missed the ones where it was stated that blowing up boats in the Caribbean is going to solve the fentanyl problen in the US.

He believes the president of Honduras was framed. That's why he pardoned him. Trump relates well to a president being framed.

I don't care what Trump believes. The fact remains he dismissed an investigation spanning nearly a decade. The basically gave the middle finger to the DEA and DOJ....and the Hondurand and AMerican people.

Calling an illegal drug a "weapon of mass destruction" is just plain stupid.

Who claims it would solve the problem?
What I do know is that every destroyed drug boat saves the lives of thousands of Americans.

I am expecting the raids of US hospitals that treat patients with fentanyl to commence shshortly.
If it was Obama or Biden issuing this same EXACT Exec Order, would you still pretend like it applies to hospitals??
Or would you simply accept it that the US President clearly said the Order applies only to illicit use or illicit possession of the drug???

How dare you! Go against our Liberal-Democrat friends who are outraged that those boats were destroyed, preventing the occupants from killing more Americans with their Schedule 1 drugs.

If the state was not constrained by the constitution and other valid moral principles, it could save even more lives!

Trump. Who else? Well, apart from everyone else who posts that these extra judicial killings are preventing fentanyl getting to the US.

Haven't you been listening to your president?

The U.S. Coast Guard interdicting the boat and confiscating the alleged drugs would have the same result.

Who claims it would solve the problem?
To help you further: Fact-checking Trump's claim that each boat strike off Venezuela's coast saves 25,000 lives

'Trump said the boats were carrying fentanyl during the Oct. 15 press conference.

“And you can see it, the boats get hit, and you see that fentanyl all over the ocean,” Trump said. “It’s like floating in bags. It’s all over the place.”

“We’ve taken a very hard stand on drugs … the water drugs — the drugs that come in through water they’re not coming — there are no boats anymore, frankly there are no fishing boats, there’s no boats out there period,”

Sounds like he's telling you that he's solving the fentanyl problem. He's lying to you of course (I didn't need to actually tell you that), but he's the guy that's saying 'it would solve the problem'.

I hope that clears up the question.
