  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

James Woods has slammed Donald Trump over his 'distasteful' comments about Rob Reiner despite being one of Hollywood's most outspoken supporters of the President.

The 78-year-old praised Reiner - a staunch liberal - for saving his career and being a 'Godsend in my life' during his Monday night appearance on Fox News's Jesse Watters Primetime.

The actor also hit out at Reiner's critics, claiming that although their politics did not align, the murdered filmmaker does not deserve to be spoken poorly of.

'I judge people by how they treat me, and Rob Reiner was a Godsend in my life. We got along great, we loved each other… He was always on my side,' Woods said.

'When people would say to me, "What do you think of his politics?" I would say, "I think Rob Reiner is a great patriot." Do I agree on many of his ideas on how that patriotism should be enacted, to celebrate the America that we both love? No.

'He doesn't agree with me either, but he also respects my patriotism. We had a different path to the same destination, which was a country we both love.'

Woods further argued that saying 'horrible things' about Reiner is 'infuriating and distasteful,' adding: 'Because you disagree with people doesn't mean that you have to hate people.'

well ... I would agree with Woods ... however it is also true that Reiner said some very vile things as well ... the reality is people are going to say and/or do hateful things .... the depravity of mankind.

Sin taints every aspect of a person—mind, heart, will, body, emotions—leaving no part uncorrupted by its effects.

I try to dismiss the hateful things someone might say and try to see what the substance they are talking about is without it (the main point). Tuff to do sometimes and sometimes there is no substance.

It's a concern. Trump's dementia symptoms are getting worse and worse. And this time, his staff and appointees are not controlling his impulsive actions.
Controlling? They are celebrating!

Has he officially been diagnosed?

He's recently had several MRIs, and he's had several tests given to people to detect dementia. But no official news of the results.

President Donald Trump boasted that he has undergone more cognitive decline tests than any other president in history during a wild late-night rant.

In a Truth Social post in which he bragged about how hard he works and called for The New York Times to cease publication, Trump also made reference to the fact that he has “aced” three Montreal Cognitive Assessments, a test designed to screen for early dementia or mild cognitive impairment.

“In addition to the Medical [assessments], I have done something that no other President has done,” he wrote in the 488-word rant, ”on three separate occasions, the last one being recently, by taking what is known as a Cognitive Examination, something which few people would be able to do very well, including those working at The New York Times, and I ACED all three of them in front of large numbers of doctors and experts, most of whom I do not know.”
“I have been told that few people have been able to “ace” this Examination and, in fact, most do very poorly, which is why many other Presidents have decided not to take it at all.”

He's frequently sundowning in public now:
During a White House press conference alongside French president Emmanuel Macron on Monday (February 24), Trump was asked about trade between the US and neighbouring countries Mexico and Canada.
,,,
"I look at some of these agreements and I say who would ever sign a thing like this. The tariffs will go forward, yes. We’ll make up a lot of territory. Our country will be liquid and rich again."

It was Trump who signed “those things”.

It’s all speculation. IMO I wouldn’t be surprised one way or the other since his father had Alzheimer’s. I’m OBVIOUSLY not diagnosing him.

Peace

What’s funny about it is that people are doing exactly what people were doing to Biden and shamed for it. I guess this is different. Shameful either way. Hypocrisy abounds in partisan politics.

Evidence matters. In Biden's case, he clearly was sharp in 2020 when he completely outclassed Trump in debates, but was not so sharp in 2024. Democrats acted accordingly. When Trump began to show signs of cognitive decline, republicans just doubled down on supporting him. He's clearly having trouble keeping awake, often says things that a bright 6th grader would know are wrong, etc.

You clearly perceive reality very differently to me.
