  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well it’s interesting that throughout all the decades of photographing sun eclipses no one has adjusted the exposure enough to show the surrounding area? Also, why are no craters or the rugged surface of the moon ever seen on the eclipsing ’object’?
Any photography which includes the sun has to be low exposure, so none of the features on the moon's surface will be visible. If you take a longer exposure then the image gets swamped by the sunlight.
It doesn't take genius to figure this out.

I guess this is the closest we will get to seeing an apology from you. Pride really is such a terrible sin.

I have nothing personally vested in this. And I’m not sure wether gravity existing or not existing has any bearing on the flat earth model, as I could just say, it comes from the black hole below. But things usually have more than one explanation.

A mass of more energetic air molecules will tend to push less energetic air molecules away such that the space occupied by the energetic molecules will be less dense and thus will be pushed upwards by the more dense (cooler) surrounding air. It doesn't need to be encapsulated. You were speaking earlier of single, energetic molecules, which on their own won't do much. You can easily learn how all his works with very little effort, but it appears that would be too much for you.

Ok, so maybe this is a stupid question, but does the Higgs field have any bearing on this? And what causes the Higgs field?

That’s not what I meant. You should still see the rugged edge, but in all photos it is not rugged. Also I imagine that technology advances so that we get better cameras that have better range of exposure, and there’s nothing that says the video is fake.

That is a load of nonsense. The difference between the highest peak on the moon's surface and the lowest craters is 19km, which is slightly over 1% of the moon's radius, and those high and low points aren't adjacent. No one is going to be able to discern 'rugged edges' that vary a fraction of 1% of the moon's radius.

Not according to @Apple Sky . All she needs to claim something is fake is for it to be contrary to what she believes. I'm assuming that you also believe all photos of the earth from space are fake based on the same criteria.

If I pass gass, there’s no reason for the particles to stick together in some unity to be less dense than their environment. I would expect them to just blend in. So I am going to assume that the reason it moves upward has nothing to do with gravity.
That would be Brownian motion.

You want to "prove" that one of your beliefs is true - "here's evidence from the Freemasons."

And here we are again you discussing the person & not the subject.

Well that’s funny. Because clouds are formed by water particles that are energised by the sun, which should be a lot heavier than air particles, and somehow they travel upward without any encapsulation.
You can't be this ignorant about basic science.

You can clear see the rugged edge on all photos except solar eclipses.

Yeah most space photos are fake or have fish eye lenses but the Chinese forgot to use a fisheye lens on their latest ”space walk” I wonder if they’re trying to tell us something.

LOL. Forgive me if I find this hard to believe.

Until we have the answer. Then there is only one explanation. Gravity is well understood despite some people's claims otherwise.
Ok, so maybe this is a stupid question, but does the Higgs field have any bearing on this? And what causes the Higgs field?
I have no idea. I am not particularly well versed in particle physics so couldn't begin to give an answer.

Even fish eye lenses don't distort straight lines passing through the centre of the field of view, and I've posted a frame from a balloon camera video in another thread where the horizon was in the centre and the curvature was clearly visible.

Examples?

Any high res photo will do it has at least some bumps here and there and isn’t perfectly round.

Bollocks.

I had a look at a few of them. No jagged edges, especially when you zoom in.
Bollocks.
That is what you are full of.

Hard to get a high res photo anyway. Find me something credible where you can see the rest of the moon and maybe I’ll change my mind. Just kidding I won’t.

That is what you are full of.

Something’s wong.

This is a short video from a balloon at 121,000ft, from just before the balloon burst. As the camera is falling and the horizon goes from one side of the centre to the other, you can see the effect of the fishey lens distortion, bending the horizon up and down, but if you pause the video and step through one frame at a time, you can find frames where the horizon passes through the centre and is not being distorted. You can see for yourself that the horizon is not flat. No doubt you will call bollocks on what your own eyes can see.

We use exactly the same footage to claim it is flat.

But the Chinese spacewalk - although it’s probably fake - is supposedly much higher.
