  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Citizens are fed up with Dem-invited migrants that have disdain for US law and culture

Nothing in that definition includes refugees, nothing in there includes immigrants attending green card hearings,
You are correct - because they are doing things legally - just like my mom and dad.
nothing justifies that charming scene last week where the woman was apprehended just as she raised her hand to legally take the citizenship oath.
I have no clue as to what you are referring.
I'm sure that gave you a thrill, but you're going to have to use a different definition for "illegal aliens."
Your mind reading machine is faulty.

Hahaha.
Critical race theory (
CRT) is an academic framework, primarily in legal studies, that analyzes how race and racism are embedded within American law, social structures, and institutions. It is based on the premise that racism is a normal, systemic feature of society, not just the product of individual bias or prejudice.
I'm sure you would be supportive if that was what they were teaching
"Critical Race Theory" is an offshoot of the Marxist "Critical Theory." Derrick Bell is given credit for CRT, it replaced the class in CT with race and thus CRT. Instead of pitting one working class against another CRT pits one race against another (such as in "systemic racism," there is always to be an oppressed and oppressor to push the hatred.

Why do you hate America?
That's quite a dumb thing to say. I mean, really dumb.

I love my adopted country. We have so much going for us. But I can give you a list of things that Australia has done which are actually shameful. Our treatment of the original inhabitants from Day One. The stolen children. The White Australia policy. More recently the Cronulla riots and the rise of far right political parties. Our treatment and virtual incarceration of illegal immigrants. It's a long list. I could go on.

But does acknowledging all that then mean that I hate the place? This is not my country by virtue of an accident of birth. My wife and I chose this country. We chose to be citizens. We choose to be Australians. Because of what the country generally represents. We celebrate everything that is good about the country. But we don't flinch from admitting the faults. It's our duty to do so.

It should also be yours.

That article has a bit of everything.
Immigrants are stealing your housing.
Immigrants are stealing your healthcare.
Immigrants are part of a grand race replacement ploy.

I am highly disappointed there is no mention of immigrants with gigantic calves carrying drugs across the border.
and those eating our dogs and cats

Well done. You got that exactly right.

I think it was sold to a lot of people like that, although I believe the two major factors were for future votes and to change our country, to destroy what has been successful. Unfortunately open borders has never worked and does not work. Bringing in those who love America and wish to be part of the melting pot, to eventually assimilate into our country while adding the best parts of their culture to ours, is ideal.

Gee, lucky break for you then that you don't have open borders! In fact there is literally a news report on the TV as I write this that says Trump is making it more difficult for UK residents to get just a visitor visa. Don't know if he'll do the same for Australians, but it doesn't worry me. I won't be back until he's gone.

How do you draw that conclusion from what he said? What do you suppose he hates about it that makes him want to point out facts about our history? I know those facts as well, and they don't cause me to hate America.

Maybe he should focus on his own country’s history of slavery and conquest

CRT doesn't "do" anything. It's an analytical tool. It doesn't "pit" one race against another. If there was no existing racial conflict there would be nothing for it to anyalize.

I think we can all agree that it’s not something Desantis is having taught in Florida classrooms. Ditto for Texas

You know the biggest group of people fed up with illegal aliens?

Legal immigrants.

Cuban Americans represent the largest immigrant group that strongly opposes illegal immigration. However, the historical reality reveals a striking contradiction: approximately 90% of Cuban Americans residing in the United States originally entered the country without legal authorization. This irony highlights the complex relationship between personal history and current attitudes toward immigration policy within the American community.

FYI -Yesterday, the majority of Cuban Americans voted for a Democratic mayor to lead Miami for the first time in 30 years. Apparently, some members of the Cuban community are now witnessing the dehumanization of their fellow people firsthand.

CRT is only offered as an elective course in higher education, yet conservative media and conservative politics promoted during last election that that all young people in America are being indoctrinated with CRT.

As the son of two LEGAL immigrants - I and my family have no issue with the definitions -

Illegal Aliens is the formal term

8 U.S. Code § 1325 - Improper entry by alien

Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

alien

(3) The term “alien” means any person not a citizen or national of the United States.

Could you share your parents' legal immigration experience to help us understand how the process works?

That's just it, it was never taught in classrooms and never will be. What is objected to is the observation, which Desantis blames on CRT, that there is still racism going on and that is what he doesn't want taught in the schools.

What a stupid trope! She was two years old when her mother died. This so-called brother is three years younger than she is. The math ain't mathing. Do better, be best.

While I disagree with Mrs. Omer's politics and lifestyle, it's important to be truthful and avoid spreading falsehoods. Claims that Mrs. Obama married her brother are baseless, yet some conservatives continue to spread them, and it's really sad to see individuals who call themselves Christian these kind of these lies just to make political point.

I’m not arguing about CRT, although elements of it have been taught in classrooms, my post was simply about a mistake someone made in their post

No, the absurd claim about Mrs. Obama is that she is a man whose husband is gay. ^_^ Mrs. Clinton got Frazzledrip.

I dunno why some love to revel in such dreck.
