  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How do we love difficult people? For one thing, we can make sure that we are not difficult ourselves. Look for ways to unify and edify in God's truth and not man's theology or politics. The most difficult people are seen in politics and religion. What's my answer? Just preach the simple commands of the Lord and love each other, and keep it that simple. That's what people need. And yes, I myself was once very difficult.

If Jesus loves someone, we remain abiding in Jesus , doing and living as ABBA YAHWEH says, and doing what is best for them. "Doing" being a key - "loving" is not a feeling, but is obedience to God.
Joy is a feeling that might come from love. But I agree that love is a work we do as you describe. I'm not disagreeing with that.

Today we live in perilous times. The minds of people seared with a hot iron and the love of many cold. You nor I can force love on anyone and should not. In my experience I have found that with some people I love them from a distance. Sad but true.
