  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Perhaps God is not trying to persuade us of something. The Old Testament is a record of God trying the persuade the nation of Israel to keep the promise made by their ancestors. Trying to persuade people is an impossible task.

God may be simply looking for a harvest. What he hopes to find are any so drawn to truth that they recognize what Jesus did on the cross and trust in it.

His work with Israel will finally pay off when after being supernaturally protected by God for the last 3 1/2 years of the tribulation, the nation (a faithful remnant) will finally accept the earthly kingdom that they were promised.

Where is the promise of an external earthly kingdom in the NT?

Jesus said the kingdom of God is here now (Mt 13:24, 31, 33, 44, 45, 47, 18:23, 20:1, Mk 4:26), invisible and within (Lk 17:20-21),
we are now reigning with Christ (Eph 2:6) in his kingdom (Lk 22:69, Eph 1:19-22, Mk 14:62, 16:19, Ro 8:34, 1 Co 15:25, Col 3:1, Heb 1:3, 8:1, 10:12-13, 12:2, 1Pe 3:2 Rev 1:6, Ps 2:6 with Heb 12:22)

A remnant accepts that kingdom now, the same remnant of all mankind that accepts the gospel now.

Which understanding of theirs he did not confirm, referring only to coming events.
The everlasting (eternal) kingdom is eternal life (Mt 25:46)
Present tense (heavenly kingdom)
Col_1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
