He was told he did not have an appointment [with Habba] and waited in the foyer area for a short time before he stormed out into the public hallway and tore down two pictures that were hanging, the official said.

He then fled the building.

The official said the man never got into the actual prosecutors’ offices, which are behind a locked buzzer door.

You left out the part about the receptionist being behind the secure glass:

"A senior official familiar with the incident said an early review shows the man went upstairs to the U.S. attorney’s office and told the receptionist, who was behind secure glass, that he was there to speak to Habba."

I've personally filed a lawsuit against a number of federal intelligence agencies, so I've spend some time in a federal courthouse. I've even been in a judge's chambers with a judge and numerous government attorneys. It seemed pretty secure, but someone with intent who doesn't care about sacrificing himself could be a real danger. People go in and out of locked doors, but a criminal could slip in. We saw weaknesses in security in regard to protecting President Trump.
