  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Border czar Tom Homan strongly opposed the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) “special message” on immigration, saying the statement would encourage people to make a dangerous trek to the United States.

Homan told EWTN News on Nov. 14 that the “Catholic Church is wrong. I’m sorry. I’m a lifelong Catholic. I’m saying it as not only a border czar. I’ll say it as a Catholic. I think they need to spend time fixing Catholic Church in my opinion.”

The bishops approved the message on immigration at the 2025 Fall Plenary Assembly in Baltimore on Nov. 12. “We oppose the indiscriminate mass deportation of people,” the message said.

More than 95% of the American bishops voted to support the message. The bishops said in the message they “are bound to our people by ties of communion and compassion in Our Lord Jesus Christ” and “are saddened by the state of contemporary debate and the vilification of immigrants.”

This was proven false.

Proven? Not a fact either way. Seems likely to most he took the cash, but it was not a crime. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/10/16/tom-homan-50k-sting-operation-00611219
But since the Trump DOJ dropped the case, we may never know, though perhaps some documents will surface later. My apologies if I suggested it was a clear cut case. We have no access to the potential evidence, and Trump seems very soft on some white collar crime. I say that based on his known and factual pardons. it is interesting to note that Homan got a advisory role in the Trump Administration, one that avoided any Senate confirmation. A more prudent administration would be more independent on internal investigations. Instead both sides are far too political. The good news is that as the GOP prosecutes the likes of Bolton, the dems will have their turn at some point to ferret out potential corruption of those in the GOP.

Yeah it was proven. Homan wasn't even in office when this was supposed to have taken place. Accepting
money was not against the law for him, if in fact it happened.

George Stephanopoulos has been caught lying twice so far, and it is well known that he worked in the
Clinton administration and is a staunch democrat and hater of the republicans, especially trump.
