  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm just surprised that nobody has. :)
Obviously that's because they can't.
No one has come forward with touched up photos because they weren't touched up.
In the same way that no one has come forward to say, "I worked for NASA and here's how we faked the moon landings". Because they didn't.

Yes - It's one of those words that are spelt the same but have two different meanings.
Although 'Mast' is what I should have said.:)
But the problem continues to be that if there are no satellites, then the satellite tv signals are coming from nothing, because there is no alternative explanation that makes any sense.

It’s not a matter of belief, because I would have to believe in something that I know for a fact to be untrue. I don’t have to know anything about satellites to be able to say that. Aerial masts, underground cables, ionosphere, or balloons. I know for a fact that these explanations are completely untrue. So how can I possibly believe any of them?

And as I have said before, it should very, very easy to know where the signals come from if not from a satellite. The proof would so obvious that it couldn’t be missed. But it isn’t there.

So where do the signals come from if not from a satellite?

How do you know ? Shouldn't we put these photos to the test ?

I don’t think that Applesky is going to answer your question about satellites, so I have a question for flat earthers that bothers me as a Pole. Why would Nicolaus Copernicus want to deceive anybody?
While she's avoiding answering, it still remains a significant anomaly for flat earth claims. Flat earth gurus, the flat earth "authoritative" sources, rely on the ignorance of their disciples to make their claims. Anyone with experience in radio/tv equipment, such as ham radio operators and satellite tv installers, will know full well that their explanations are utter nonsense.

@Apple Sky refuses to engage with the problems because she has no understanding of the issues involved. And so her position is just to believe the nonsense. Then she seems to think that it should be the same for everyone, just believe it.

But that's not going to answer the obvious problems raised by their claims.

And so I'll keep asking the question for as long as it takes.

And I'm sure you'll find that @Apple Sky has a track record of refusing to engage with problems raised by people like you and me because her repertoire only includes making claims and posting YouTube and other videos making the same claims. ;)

Oh and quoting Bible verses out of context!

Why would Nicolaus Copernicus want to deceive anybody?

I don't think Copernicus wanted to deceive anyone.

I reckon his hand was forced & they made him into this guy who would became responsible for Heliocentricism.

At about 1532, Copernicus had basically completed his work on the manuscript of Dē revolutionibus orbium coelestium; but despite urging by his closest friends, he resisted openly publishing his views, not wishing—as he confessed—to risk the scorn "to which he would expose himself on account of the novelty and incomprehensibility of his theses.

Toward the close of 1542, Copernicus was seized with apoplexy and paralysis, and he died at age 70 on 24 May 1543. Legend has it that he was presented with the final printed pages of his Dē revolutionibus orbium coelestium on the very day that he died, allowing him to take farewell of his life's work.[q] He is reputed to have awoken from a stroke-induced coma, looked at his book, and then died peacefully.

De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium was published in 1543. The first edition of this work by Nicolaus Copernicus was printed in Nuremberg, Germany, shortly before his death. Copernicus died in May 1543.

What test do you suggest and how would you go about doing it?

I have tried, but what they have cleverly done is to make sure that original photo cannot be be uploaded to FotoForensics.

What evidence, apart from saying “I reckon” do you have for such a statement, and who are the “they”?

It hurts not to be believed, but the internet has made it easier to prove or disprove claims in some ways. A few years ago, I still kept a flock of sheep. One night, my dog was making a big fuss and actually broke the gate to the pasture. (She was a very big dog.) I got up and walked out to the pasture about half a kilometer. There was no moon. The problem was a herd of wild pigs. Anyway, I looked at the beautiful sky and saw the lights of the space station. Nobody believed me until I researched the location of the space station that night and proved it was right over my location. It was the only time I had ever seen a real satellite, and it looked just like the photos others had taken and put on the internet.

Thank you for the nice reply, but I don't think he could have been forced by anyone.

Oh dear; "they" strike again.

Of course, everything is one big plot, or conspiracy theory, isn't it?
The governments of the world and powers that be have nothing better to worry about than how to deceive people into believing something which doesn't matter.

But you see that’s the problem. Making statements and claims is not going to convince anyone except the gullible.

Oh well (shrug)

Don’t you realise that in order to be believed you need to have at least strong evidence for your claims?

And the problem is that, not only do you not have evidence for a variety of claims, the evidence points to the opposite of your claims.

So it all boils down to your belief which goes against actual facts and nothing else.
