Nancy Pelosi to retire from Congress after nearly 4 decades in office

Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, the first female speaker of the United States House of Representatives, has announced that she will not seek reelection next year and will retire after nearly four decades in office.

The 85-year-old announced Thursday that she would be bringing her tenure in Congress to a close, which will have spanned 39 years by the time she leaves office.

“I will not be seeking reelection to Congress. With a grateful heart, I look forward to my final year of service as your representative," she stated in a video to her constituents quoted by The Washington Post.

She will continue to hold her seat in Congress, representing the San Francisco area, throughout the duration of her term.

How exactly is she destroying the US? She's a single legislator from the minority party and has absolutely no power.

her biggest fault was her help in leading America into a budget and social security funding crisis. I w3ould rank her in the top ten of all time for this. Biden perhaps is number one. Trump seems likely to crack the top ten too. I have not done the measurements lately, but the methodology that I use for determining what USA leaders owe the USA the most because the the debt they let build are based on the following:
US House member, 1/3rd of the blame/435
U.S. Senator, 1/3 of the blame/100
U.S. President 1/3rd of the blame

The blame = the total sum of the public debt that was created in the years they were in power.

It is not perfect, because a few are not so reckless and vote against high flying budgets. I am 99% certain though in Pelosi's case that is not true. Plus a more sophisticated model, would assign her more weight during the years she was Speaker.

by virtue of her longetivity I think she cracks the top ten.

Let's see, funding Planned Parenthood and abortion, supporting the LGBTQ+ transgender epidemic, supporting DEI and of course unfunded wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Supporting a budged that increases the national debt and in deficit.
