  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A new children's book of Bible stories claims that the Bible has "made-up" stories and events in its pages, drawing criticism from a leading Evangelical parachurch ministry.

The Just Love Story Bible, authored by Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis and Rev. Dr. Shannon Daley-Harris, reimagines 52 stories from the Old and New Testaments, weaving in gender ideology, LGBT and social justice themes.

This nonsense needs to stop. LGBT ideology is not love and casual hook up’s are not love. Speaking as someone who has a brother deep in that lifestyle.

Sigh

The authors said they hope to prompt children to ask questions and challenge traditional beliefs about God, Jesus, and the biblical narrative. For example, Lewis describes her storybook’s presentation of Jesus’ resurrection: “Did that happen? For me, it matters more that children know that love never dies, so that’s where I landed.” Children’s Bible stories published with social justice focus

It just makes me worried, because, love, is not whatever anybody says it is. The review on the link above does go on to present a far more realistic and Christian perspective on what love is.
