  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi all,

I have just finished reading Genesis to the family and wanted to reward their patience with some movies which highlight some of what we read.

So far, I have Noah with Russel Crowe and Joseph from c 1995. As we move into Exodus, we will have the Ten Commandments from 1956.

Are there any other good ones?

Thank you!

Two excellent animations: "Prince of Egypt" and "Joseph: King of Dreams," both from Dreamworks. I consider "Prince of Egypt" the slight better of the two. Both are respectful of the source and highly praiseworthy.

"Noah" with Russel Crowe is...questionable. Very questionable.

Thanks so much!

I haven't watched Noah in years and wasn't walking with God at the time. I watched it as more nostalgia for my childhood. I guess when I watch it now, as an older and hopefully wiser person, I can watch it with proper discernment and might do so before I watch it with the family.

Which parts are questionable if you don't mind me asking?

My memory doesn't recall most of the movie apart from the dramatics of being on the ark!
