  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Israel said to view Hamas' partial response negatively, feels pressured by Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Hamas has agreed to his proposal for ending the war in Gaza, declaring that he believed the terror group is “ready for a lasting PEACE” in a social media post late Friday evening.

“Israel must immediately stop the bombing of Gaza, so that we can get the Hostages out safely and quickly! Right now, it’s far too dangerous to do that. We are already in discussions on details to be worked out. This is not about Gaza alone, this is about long sought PEACE in the Middle East,” Trump wrote.

Earlier, Hamas had issued a response that didn’t embrace all aspects of the proposed deal, but claimed it “affirms its readiness to immediately enter, via the mediators, into negotiations to discuss the details.”

In Israel, the statement was widely interpreted as a “Yes, but,” instead of a full agreement.

It would be great if hamas were to behave and disband letting the people of Gaza begin rebuilding a better life without being subjugated again. I have little faith in that outcome however. It appears they may be making moves to reassert control.

Hamas has launched several attacks on rival clans, killing "collaborators" attempting to challenge Hamas's superiority in post-ceasefire Gaza.

Hamas has reemerged in Gaza to try to cement its dominance over the enclave after the ceasefire and the release of the remaining 20 live hostages.

The terrorist organization’s goal since the truce agreement was signed in Sinai last week is to reemerge victorious and not comply with the US-backed deal that is supposed to see it disarm and give up governance.

Hamas has launched several attacks on dissidents in the meantime, murdering them and dragging them through the streets, to show that it has no intention of going anywhere.

It has always used a combination of gangland-style killings and the appearance of normalcy in governance to control Gaza. This has been Hamas’s pattern since it seized control in an illegal coup in 2007.
