  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do people hate ICE...

This could be the most stupid thing ive read in at least a few days.

Your characterization seems so utterly bereft of reality it's like you didn't even need to think when you posted this at all.

Honestly do you want to have a discussion based on reality or is this juat gonna be some Trump repeating drivel?

Because intelligent people won't be interested in that.
Cut poor Steve some slack. His country is an island. They don't have proper borders like we do.

Basically there are two main positions on Immigration law. Those who want safety and secuirty of borders but also law and order in society. Then there are the radical Marxist ideologues who want open borders and defund the police as they believe there should be no borders and law and order is oppression.

They oppose government power to enforce laws and want a free for all in the name of a DEI utopia. Pie in the sky stuff. Its often decends into violence because if we look at all the groups who have this ideology they end up using terror to achieve the destruction of the percieved oppressors.

ICE is seen as an arm of the oppressor Trump who is a Nazi and fascists that must be stopped. Just applying the normal law enforcement that any rational society would apply to keep their borders safe is deemed as oppression and therefore this must be met with terror.

Its more or less the same ideology as Islamists. Except rather than a Caliphate and Sharia law or bringing about Allahs rule. The Marxists ideologues want a Socialist utopia of some sort where all outcomes are equal. BUt both percieve the world as there being oppressors and infidels that must be stopped with violence and terror.

They see the world as oppressors and victims so every action against the percieved oppressed which includes terrorist groups and harden criminals and organisations is seen as oppression and must be met with terror.

They have the perfect army in that many are already criminals, gangs, organised crime and terror groups that are utilising the deluded western ideologues who fall for all this ideological thinking. The two have some weird cojoining like we see with groups like Queers for Palestine and Hamas. Its a strange phenomena.

But their common hate for all things western, whites, Jews and Christians unites them.
I'm not on board with all of that however the deaf, blind and decieved will be attacking you soon.
Pay them no mind.
Some really don't seem to be able to help themselves.

Videos of their impropriety are not propaganda.

Some don't hate ICE and some do. Ultimatwly we ALL hate the way they are executing orders. And we hate the orders being given to them.

How many times foes tour ilk need to be told til you can parse out the difference between those two ideas?

And so does the biggest church in the US.
I'm sorry, but that's a bit too much of a word salad for me.

I agree. I am only commenting from the sidelines. Its actually quite scarry what is happening around the world with the increasing political climate. Immigration issues and terror and security seems to be big issues for most western nations now. The world is not a happy place at the moment.

Though the peace deal in the middle east is one shining hope. But something has to be done to sort all this chaos out.

I saw a video earlier from someone who consults with churches concerning security. He mentioned a correlation with drug cartels and ICE arrests and said contracts are being put on their heads. I’m assuming the deportations are affecting business. He said cartels have a presence in all 50 states because of mass immigration. Many gang members attend church (usually catholic) and incidents are occurring in that setting or on the premises. A warning follows. The comments are equally informative and several shared experiences along those lines.

I remember after the 2nd WW and immigrants were coming to most western nations and even before this people were coming to the lands of great opportunity. To be Americans, British,, Australian and Canadian. They actually relished becoming westernised and getting away from the regimes of terror from their own nations.

Many came and integrated and became successful having businesses and still maintained their culture while also being citizens of their host nations.

Then we had this new progressive multicultural idea that the world should be one big melting pot of cultures all getting along. Some going to the point of believing there should be little resistence to immigration and even proposing borders were oppressive to those seeking a better life.

Thats all well and good but theres two ways to look at this. Millions poured into nations without being integrated. Some nations like Germany just opened their borders virtually not vetting at all. Many nations having poor immigration programs.

When I was young it use to be that we would look to nations who had conflicts and radicalisation and think 'thank God this is not our nation'. That people can come to a free and democratic nation and have a life away from all that.

But now it seems we have actually made our nations like those nations people were fleeing from. Their problems have now been imported into the only nations who at least offered freedom and a safe place away from the radical ideologies.

In that sense the radicals and terrorist have won. This was their plan to infiltrate the west through the back doors. Now they have managed to get in and are turning even locals to their thinking we have created a hell on earth which is of our own making.

Consider that such a person may have an ulterior motive for stirring up fear over this issue - note that the video description is an ad for his company. He also gives no sources for this information.

A search would reveal if incidents are taking place as he said and there were comments along those lines. If he has a professional background that would help churches improve their security and minimize incidents I’m glad he’s available. It isn’t unlawful to earn a living and violence is common at funerals involving gang members. The demographic attracts it.

Never said that it was illegal. But you should be skeptical when someone takes to social media to talk up events that would make you want to pay them for their services - that's an ad, not a public service.

There’s a misconception in our society regarding information and the exchange of funds. Content creators aren’t charities. Whatever their motivation the end goal for most is compensation. They’re well within their right to exchange their knowledge for a fee. If you don’t want to pay that’s fine. It doesn’t bother me and I view their legwork as a service. Which frees up my time for other things. I’d appreciate it before they put it behind a paywall. YouTube won’t always be like that. You’ll see a portion of content for free in the future.

Maria Greeley, 44, had just finished working a double shift at the Beach Bar on Ohio Street earlier this month when she said she was surrounded by three federal agents who grabbed her, forced her hands behind her back and zip-tied her.

Headphones in, Greeley had been focused on getting home to her two dogs for a walk. Instead, she said she was detained by masked agents who did not answer when she asked for names. They questioned her for an hour, she said.

Greeley, who was born at Illinois Masonic hospital and is adopted, carries a copy of her passport just in case she runs into federal agents.

“I am Latina and I am a service worker,” Greeley said. “I fit the description of what they’re looking for now.”

During the encounter, Greeley said they told her she “doesn’t look like” a Greeley.

“They said this isn’t real, they kept telling me I’m lying, I’m a liar,” Greeley recalled. “I told them to look in the rest of my wallet, I have my credit cards, my insurance.”

When the agents let her go, Greeley got home and screamed when she saw the shadow on her door. Days after the incident, Greeley said, it’s still “terrifying.”

“I just have to stay strong and not think about it, I’m still here, luckily,” she said, tearing up. “All those other people are getting taken.”

Again, you miss my point. I don't care that he's making money off of his videos. I'm cautioning you that he has a financial incentive to present this topic in the way that he does. Maybe he's right - I don't care enough to really dig into the claims he made - but people scaremongering on an issue that they sell services to resolve should always be treated with skepticism.

If a roofer randomly approached you and told you that you needed a new roof - oh, and by the way, he can do the job tomorrow - I'd hope that you'd at least get a 2nd opinion before immediately assuming that you need a new roof.

How do you know that? You’re not willing to investigate so at best you’re making assumptions.

There’s no comparison between the two. I chose to watch the video. I wasn’t forced. Now who’s fearmongering?

How do I know that he has a financial incentive to present the topic in the way that he does? He runs a business consulting with churches for security and made a video fearmongering about security threats to churches. It's pretty simple - no assumptions required.

Again, that doesn't mean that he's wrong, just that people shouldn't simply take his word for it. That's all I was trying to express.

Voicing skepticism is not fearmongering.

Why are you debating this with me? I’m not bothered by the video or skeptical either. You’re welcome to your feelings but I‘m not concerned. At any rate I make content myself and it isn’t difficult to find out things if needed.
