  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Nobel Peace Prize went to Venezuela’s Maria Corina Machado - why not Trump? He's solved 8 wars!

Our military is blowing boats carrying drugs designed to kill Americans. Our military is protecting our fellow Americans.
Still waiting for all that evidence...

The evidence is in the videos. Go see it for yourself.
No, it's not. What I must point out that even IF there is evidence, you don't know what it is. So if your admin kills a bunch of people and they simply say 'trust us' then you do. Without question.

It is your responsibility as a citizen to hold your government to account. Not just the opposition. Accepting that they can do what they want, whenever they want, to whomever they want is an abrogation of that responsibility.

Have you ever heard of AI? Doctoring videos is easy.

Didn't you see all the five year old clips of violence in a peaceful, progressive city--Portland--combined with loud lies about it happening right now? National Guard troops deployed in four cities with declining crime rates, building on their success every year, invaded by their own country, ordered by a man driven by hate.

I voted twice for a president who sent the Secretary of State to the United Nations to present evidence that Iraq possessed WMD, stating that, without intervention, these weapons could potentially be used in cities such as New York, London, and Paris. It was later determined that the president was incorrect regarding Iraq's possession of WMDs.

We require more evidence that boats carrying drugs pose a lethal threat to Americans before supporting such military action based on social media claims by the president.

I'm watching the event live on TV. It's a joyful day in Israel and Gaza, and I credit President Trump for making it possible.
Yes, I think that even his most ardent detractors realize just because President Trump does something, doesn't automatically make it wrong. Let's pray the peace holds and the people of Palestine and Israel can begin to heal.

President Trump’s critics rarely acknowledge his achievements, even when they are significant.

While I remain uncertain about the long-term durability of the peace agreement, history has shown that, despite occasional moments of optimism over the past century, lasting success has been elusive. Nevertheless, today is a momentous occasion for both Israelis and residents of Gaza, and it is appropriate to recognize President Trump’s role in this development.

I was moved to tears by the joyful reunions of the 20 Israeli hostages with their families.

I understand 1700 Palestinian political prisoners were also released. (The 10 to 1 ratio is typical of Netanyahu's inhumanity to his enemies.) I can imagine their reunions--learning that some of their loved ones had died of starvation or bombing, looking for their homes and neighborhoods and finding nothing but rubble, shoved in among the starving hoping that there would be enough food in the 600 trucks to kee p them alive another 24 hours.

I'm in a wait-and-see position. Trump never does anything without deriving some personal monetary or financial benefit. Will there indeed be a Bloodbath Beach Mar a Lago on the Mediterranean? Or are there rare earth minerals in the rubble (what a bargain, no need to mine for it). Through long experience, I know there's a "deal," an exploitation to follow.

It is likely that President Trump’s efforts to broker a peace deal are driven by motivations beyond altruism, potentially including political advantages or increased public support. However, such incentives are common among politicians. For instance, when leaders like Mark Carney of Canada, Anthony Albanese of Australia, or President Macron of France take steps such as recognizing the Palestinian state, it raises the question of whether their actions are also politically motivated to maintain or strengthen their positions in power.

Politicians rarely act out of altruism; most decisions are driven by political or personal gain. Why single out President Trump?

Perhaps because his own gain is his sole interest. Not the country, not the people.
Few achieve great power without idealism and goodness.

I'm sorry that your anti-Trump bias is showing.

Even well-known Democrats are praising President Trump for this peace deal.
What not to celebrate. After two long years, people are finally able to gather in the streets, reconnecting with loved ones and holding onto hope that this occasion will be different from the previous attempts. There is much to be grateful for today. It is also appropriate to acknowledge those who contributed meaningfully—President Trump played a crucial role, and did so with remarkable skill.

What is showing is that i learn from experience and have seen his track record.
President Trump's track record demonstrates that he is a peace maker. Why can you not admit that?
