  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Democrats or Republicans; who do you support?

Do you support the Democrats or the Republicans, and why?

Personally, I lean toward the Democrats. I like that they seem to genuinely care about the environment and are willing to take action on issues like climate change and clean energy. It’s frustrating to see how often Republicans downplay or ignore these problems.

I also appreciate that Democrats tend to focus more on helping working people, supporting affordable healthcare, fair wages, and education. They seem to care more about ordinary families than big corporations.

Another big reason for me is how the Republican Party continues to stand by Donald Trump. I think it’s wrong to support someone who has been involved in so many criminal cases and who encourages division and violence. It says a lot about their values as a party.

Anyway, that’s my opinion. What about you?

i'm definitely a moderate conservative/libertarian. but i'm no republican

parties are made up of politicians representing ideals

i.e, liberalism is an ideal/conservatism is an ideal. not a party

i personally think that you can be a conservative/vote republican and care about the environment or whatever, but honestly, that's just not on my top priorities list when it comes to ideals

I don't support any politician i just try to vote the "less worse"
but the leftists morals are bankrupt. The bible is serious about its warnings.
Is spiritually damaging the things they are promoting, in the very thing we should care the most, finding God and protecting the family.

Neither Democrat or Republican. What a rotten choice. I started out Democrat back when they were actually for the little guy, long long ago. I went Republican, and they tolerated me as a pro-labor and pro-environment person, even allowing me to participate in a state convention a few times. Then came Trump and I left. I settled on a start-up party called the American Solidarity Party, which is struggling to launch. But everybody expects you have to be either a Democrat OR a Republican, so it's very uphill for them.

I have been offering prayers of thanksgiving that the prior 4 years are ended. But that does not mean I believe all Republicans are saints or that President Trump is my pastor.
