  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In an article about this specific entry, Kirk engages in a nicely disingenuous bit of wordsmithing when he pushes back by saying, "We never... threaten [professors] with phrases like “you’re on our list

No, Charlie, you didn't say "you're on a list." You just put them on a list and let your followers do the rest.

Antifa expert at Rutgers University says he is moving to Spain because of death threats

Some students involved in the Rutgers chapter of Turning Point USA, the political group founded by Charlie Kirk, began circulating an online petition that claimed Bray was an “outspoken, well-known antifa member” and referred to him as “Dr. Antifa” while calling for his dismissal.

I suppose people who can be relied upon to confuse "teaching Christianity" with "teaching about Christianity" are pretty much guaranteed to confuse "teaching about anti-fascism" and "teaching anti-fascism".

I would have to attend his class to know which one he was doing

US anti-fascism expert leaves country day after being blocked from flying to Spain

Mark Bray, a historian who has taught courses on anti-fascism at the New Jersey university, was attempting to board a plane at Newark airport late on Wednesday when he was informed at the boarding gate that reservations for him and his family had been cancelled.

Bray told the outlet that his family was rebooked for Thursday evening but was in the dark about why the earlier booking had been cancelled. “I may sound conspiratorial, but I don’t think it is a coincidence,” he said. “We’re at a hotel and we’re just going to try again.”
