Katie Porter Abuse Allegations Resurface After Interview Outburst

Porter, a leading California gubernatorial candidate, faced a wave of backlash for a heated interview with a local news reporter.

Porter is a former congresswoman who ran unsuccessfully for US Senate in 2024. She is a former law professor and protege of Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Former Biden administration Health and Human Services Director Xavier Becerra, one of Porter’s top rivals in the gubernatorial race, responded to clips of the interview picked up by social media, writing, “I’m not interested in excluding any vote. Every Californian deserves affordable health care, safe streets, a roof over their head and a living wage.”

And former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa also weighed in, writing that “We need a leader who will solve hard problems and answer simple questions.”

Liberal commentator Mehdi Hasan on X called it a “car crash interview,” while Republican strategist Matt Whitlock wrote, “This Katie Porter crashout is INCREDIBLE.”

Her ex husband accused her of pouring boiling potatoes on his head . He would have suffered burn trauma. And would have had to go to the hospital. Does he have any proof. Does he have burn scars? I will look more into this.

Yikes.

She’s totally unfit to lead a state like CA. If there’s one thing I can’t stand in a candidate, it’s a feeling of entitlement to some high office. It’s what I hate most about Trump and I see the same in Porter’s answers to the interviewer. Like elections are just formalities. We don’t need that kind of attitude in charge of place as big and important as California.

I didn't see a video to admitting to the abuse. I read the link. If she beat her husband, then she should have been be punished. If the husband or witness turned it in. And would have been pushed. Which means a possible year in jail for a misdermeaner , possible 2 to 4 years in prison. With a possible Felony. 1st offence would arrest, bail, Anger management, canceling and probation.

There is a paper trail showing how tumultuous the marriage was in general (involving restraining orders)

And this isn't the first time her behavior has raised eyebrows, she's been secretly recorded on video being verbally abusive towards staffers.




Given her track record of how she's talked about (and to) her staff and peers, I'm inclined to think that there's a fairly solid chance that her ex-husband's allegations may have some merit. She seems like a real... let's say... witch (to keep it PG)
