I did what I could as an Independent voter, but the mainline Dems didn't give me much to go on. AOC28! But I would be happy to support Tammy Duckworth. She was nudged out of the VP spot in '24 by Harris, but I think the way things turned out, if she had been VP she would be President now,
Part of the problem is that a certain segment of the population does have their news filled with images and accounts of burning buildings (and other riotous acts) every day. They just fail to recognize that these images and accounts are reposts, exaggerations, out-of-context, or flat-out fakes. The ability of propagandists to manufacture a narrative out of whole cloth has increased massively since the '60s and '70s - and even the '90s - and there are far more people willing and able to do so. The public has, at the same time, become far more credulous, willing to unquestioningly accept whatever narrative fits their narrow worldview.
