  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You wouldn't be too concerned that some of their actions would bank too far left? Turn our economy to a more socialist one
The economy has done well under Democrats.
, raise our taxes to a much higher level (especially on the wealthy),
How high, and how do you define wealthy?
lower the age of consent to 15 years old,
Thats a Republican thing.
allow partial birth abortion,
There is no such thing.
allow euthanasia ...
Thats a Republican thing. During covid they wanted the elderly to die to improve the economy.

america has enjoyed a fairly 50/50 split between left vs right perspectives on the tax code.

bill clinton came close to balancing the budget but had that actually happened, we would have had a severe reconing in the 8 years that followed in the next administration.

the housing bubble would not have happened, because interest rates would have been kept high instead of being dropped for.. allegedly: the purpose of blowing up the housing market. keep in mind.. financial policy is not necessarily left or right. its driven by the folks that set the interest rates. and they also who decides get to qualify for a loan.

some fringe right wing groups would support going back to pre 1913 federal reserve days (which is neigher federal nor a reserve) and let anyone create their own banks and currencies, since governments should be representatives of nations. not agents of bankers.

bankers.. who own everything.

What would happen (and I kind of have a good feeling the outcome) if we just caved to the demands of the Left. Let the values and morals of Kamala Harris, Charles Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Hilary Clinton, George Soros, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Bernie Sanders, Barack Obama, Ophrah Winfrey, Bill Clinton, James Carville, Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Al Sharpton, Jasmine Crockett, some of our local liberals such as EssentialSaltes, Hans Blaster, Pommer, DaiseyDay, BCP1928, NxNw, iluvatar5150, TropicalWinds, Larniavc, and don't forget Bradski and so on just run the government. Tell them, "You guys are in charge; just leave us alone. We won't bother you, don't bother us. Of course, I know the first they will do is "bother us" probably by raising our taxes through the roof, possibly seizing our land, abolishing places of worship but let's let them have their way.

How far will it go? Will they make our country better to live in? There is no arguing with these people in anyway, they don't hear us. So just let them do what they want to do. Will they make a fairly livable place to live like Canada, Germany, France, Sweden and China or will there be a point where they will just start destroying themselves such as happened during the French Revolution or the beginnings of the Soviet Union? I don't know. All I do know is I'm tired of their constant badgering. I know this is a very farfetched idea because I know most conservatives minded people have great hope for our country that it would continue on the way the founding fathers envisioned it but I just say imagine it. Would it be good or disastrous.

My next question would then be, "Would God forgive us for allowing us to let this happen or would he consider us peacemakers, we let the Left do what they want to do. They cannot say we are holding them back anymore, we've compromised everything.
Aw man I’m kinda bummed I didn’t make your list :(

The economy has done well under Democrats.
the business cycle is offset from the politics by about 50%. sometimes 40%, sometimes 60%. as such, the economy as measured by various factors we say "is good" may be good under democrats, but its unstainable by another group who funds the republicans and then they get elected the next cycle.
if this wasn't the case, the problem would have fixed itself by now.

I remember the anti war protestors of the 2000-2015 era and they all thought the military budget was 75% of the budget. it wasn't, it was 20-25.

It was 75% of the digressionary budget with the other 75% of the rest of the budget being other things no senator or congressman would even talk about unless they didn't want to get re-elected. I realized they couldn't be reasoned with in my teenage years, 20 years ago.

As it is now, america cannot afford 60% of its budget, which is entirely medicare medicaid and social security.

The 7% inflation we have been running is pretty consistent with the near doubling in prices per 10 years, its just the rule of 72.
this has been unsustainable for about 30 years now. its just that it takes an entire generation (25 years) to notice things are going wrong. then another generation to mess it up to the point it goes wrong.

Liberals bad
I see. I thought at first it was about policy proposals, then it seemed to be about how liberals would persecute christians. Very confusing.

Here is a few "reforms" for consideration:

End the reporting exemption for religious 501(c)3 organizations. (Report your finances churches!)
End the offices of religious whatever in the White House.

Based on what I have read so far, people who lean more to the left feel there would be no problems with the Liberals running the country. Although, I not sure how many of them understood that there would be no opposition from the right (great sadness yes but no opposition). They seem to be okay with Jan Schakowsky, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Eleanor Holmes Norton, Jamie Raskin, Greg Casar, Barbara Lee and others and that they would lead our country to success. I thought there would be some objective thinking here and some words of caution about giving some people too much power,

I appreciate your input as to what should be done if liberals had no opposition in implementing their policies but what I'm really looking for is would liberal politicians leave conservative people alone to live their own lives the way they see fit or would they come after conservative (who many are religious in nature) people's way of life. Something that you are touching upon a little - their religious life.

Those on the left don’t take issue with politicians they agree with being in office? Insidious.

That is a very odd list. Barbara Lee left Congress to be mayor of Oakland. Holmes Norton represents DC and can't even vote on bills (not a state). The first I ever even heard of Schakowsky was that she was retiring at the end of this Congress and not running for reelection. Jamie Raskin may be the best human in Congress.

I don't believe in special privileges for religions. They should meet the same requirements as any other non-profit group and the White House shouldn't have special offices for them. I'm sure your church will do fine without contact with the White House.

Why do you think churches would be closed, property seized or other fears of not being left alone materialize if there was a liberal super majority?

How anyone, regardless of political ideology, could not want replicators, holodecks and FTL travel is beyond me.
But Star Trek recently became woke! Yuck!
