  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is anyone else going to be visiting the relics of St Therese of Lisieux as they tour parts of the US?

Here's the website for information on the tour: The Relics of St. Thérèse of Lisieux - America 2025

Right now they're starting off in Michigan from Oct 1-8, so all our Michigander brethren I hope you get to see them if you want to.

They're gonna be here in California from Oct 10-31, stopping at several Carmelite monasteries and 10 diocese in total. My wife and I are going to try to go see them when they're in Yountville because that's perhaps as far north as they'll come, and therefore as close as they'll be to us. So if any CA brethren in NorCal are planning to see them we may be at St Joan of Arc Church in Yountville for the procession and veneration of the relics on Sunday, October 26. Nothing's decided for us yet, but if we do go I'd like to go the night before so we can go to their 9:30am Latin Mass. God willing.

After CA the relics go on to San Antonio, TX from Oct 31-Nov 14, Holy Hill Wisconsin from Nov 15-18, Washington DC area (including the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception) from Nov 19-30, and then Miami from Dec 1-8.

I hope you all have an opportunity to see them if you want!
