CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Let me get this straight. So the solution to our culture of violence does not involve guns but involved mental health as the fix. But medications but now they want us to believe it is the medications we give people with mental health problems to help them is what leads them to violence?
In what world does that make sense? Guess we'll have to give them Tylenol...no wait...there is a problem with that, too. Looks like there is no hope for the school children.

Firearms are a constitutional right. You don't get to remove those from people, they are God given and it is to government to protect that right, not to dole it out.
Do you think any sane person murders unarmed innocent people in a meeting? Is that your definition of sanity?Do you not think such displays of insanity deserves to be addressed more effectively?

The 2nd amendment was definitely given by the 1st Congress and ratified by the states. It was not given by God.
