I think the point you're missing is that assimilation was not required. As soon as they become American citizens, that's it. They are already American citizens. We are not tolerating them. They are us.
This sounds great. Its how it used to be. People came here to BE Americans not to just live in America. I like it.
My whole family was naturalized including me. I don't find it creepy at all. Its what we all wanted. We all love America despite her flaws through the years.
The question is, do they recognize that America is better than their home country? If not then why are they a refugee? Its because rheir country is so bad they needed to get out.
Thats a good point. Unfortunately it was necessary for SOME things which were fast tracked before. Other things, I certainly would have preferred that congress had taken action on for sure to make it law and long lasting.
Can't speak for Rob, but I'm very proud of some things and not so proud of others. I suppose like anyone is with any administration. I'm guessing many weren't proud of Biden's administration either on some things.
