  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Chicago Starbucks Worker Did Not Write ‘Loser’ On Order Honoring Charlie Kirk, Company Says

A viral social media video this week claimed that employees at a Norwood Park Starbucks wrote “Loser” on a drink ordered in honor of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk. An online furor followed, and the coffee shop even closed temporarily.

But Starbucks now says that time-stamped footage from the store at 6332 N. Northwest Highway does not show any of its workers writing that message. Instead, the note appears “to have been added after the beverage was handed off, likely by someone else,” a spokesperson told Block Club.

The controversy started with a post Tuesday from Jacqueline Garretson, who, according to her X bio, is the Illinois state director for The Conservative Caucus and previously worked as a staffer for failed Republican attorney general candidate Thomas DeVore.

“We’re looking for not corporate bureaucracy. I want immediate accountability; and if not, I will have this whole intersection lined with patriots today, I’m not even joking,” [her companion] told a Starbucks employee.

A Starbucks order...in honour of Charlie Kirk. Starbucks is some of the cheapest **** you can buy. ^_^

But, seriously. The constant deceit is disgusting. Not just this occasion or this person, but ever since Trump slithered His way into the White House and by so many who wish to emulate Him.

“Slithered” is pushing it.
Donald Trump is as honest as he can be.

I'll be honest. If I would have read that story, I would have been skeptical. A person would have to be an incredible idiot to do something like that these days. I mean, there probably are those people out there, but I would be skeptical. I would have to see it to believe it as a fact. After all, how many leftists followed Charlie enough to know what kind of tea he liked. I mean we see it on these boards with people who are politically savvy who didn't know much about him other than he was a right wing guy.

We have far too many of these kinds of things going on, from the phony racist stuff now phony anti-Charlie stuff.

You're saying that they overpaid a corporation who dresses up poor taste with a lot of marketing?

That sounds on brand for the contemporary right.

Just to bring some context:

What is Mint Majesty at Starbucks?
AI Overview
Starbucks' Mint Majesty is a caffeine-free herbal tea made with a blend of spearmint, peppermint, and lemon verbena.

Add a couple honeys and it sounds to me like something you might get in Istanbul or Cairo. Kind of nice actually. I admit I was primed to expect some sickly sweetened coffee abomination.
