  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

In the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, there is an enormous open-wound that has manifested a bit clearer to me now, knowing, after Sunday service, one by one members of our own assembly withdrew from my questioning, thus continuing our responses to the assassination of Christian, Charlie Kirk, obviously due to and stemming from longstanding schisms (aka loyalty to denominations). In effect, the impact has removed the insufficiently thin bandage to once again, bring us to the surface of unity’s scarred image of the Son within.

As the gatherer AI states in violet:

Details on the Schism in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Following Charlie Kirk's Assassination

The assassination of **Charlie Kirk**, a prominent conservative Christian leader, has intensified existing divisions within the **Church of the Lord Jesus Christ**. The responses to this tragic event have highlighted differing theological and political perspectives among church members, leading to a clearer manifestation of the schism.

Responses to the Assassination

1. **Compassion and Reflection**: Many church leaders, such as **Lee Davis**, emphasized the need for compassion and introspection in the wake of Kirk's assassination. Davis urged the congregation to reflect on their words and actions, advocating for a message of reconciliation rather than blame. He stated, "We cannot change the past, but we can choose another way forward," highlighting the importance of unity and understanding in times of crisis.

2. **Calls for Repentance**: In contrast, **Rev. Jim Harden** of CompassCare framed the response in terms of repentance and personal accountability. He suggested that the tragedy should prompt individuals to seek a closer relationship with God, emphasizing the need for righteousness in the face of persecution. His message focused on leveraging anger for positive change, urging believers to stand firm in their faith.

3. **Political Context**: The assassination has also been viewed through a political lens, with some leaders attributing the violence to a broader culture of division and hostility in society. This perspective has led to calls for a reevaluation of the rhetoric used in political discourse, as many believe that inflammatory language contributes to real-world violence.

Current State of Reconciliation

As of now, reconciliation efforts within the church are ongoing but fraught with challenges. The differing responses to Kirk's assassination have not only highlighted theological divides but also political ones, making it difficult for members to find common ground.

- **Dialogue Initiatives**:

Some church leaders are advocating for dialogue initiatives aimed at fostering understanding among differing factions. These initiatives focus on creating safe spaces for discussion about the implications of Kirk's assassination and the broader issues of violence and division in society.

- **Community Support**:

There are also efforts to support the Kirk family and the community affected by this tragedy, with many church members participating in prayer vigils and community outreach programs. This collective action may serve as a foundation for rebuilding trust and unity within the church.

- **Ongoing Tensions**:

Despite these efforts, significant tensions remain. The schism is characterized by a lack of consensus on how to address the underlying issues that led to the assassination and how to move forward as a united body of believers.

In summary

The assassination of Charlie Kirk has not only deepened existing divisions within the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ but has also prompted a range of responses that reflect the complexity of faith, politics, and community in contemporary society. The path to reconciliation is still being navigated, with leaders and members alike seeking ways to bridge the gaps that have widened in the wake of this tragedy.

AI fails to identify the " Church". She is not in schism because Jesus Christ of Nazareth is her King and she is His Bride. Flesh fights against His Holy Spirit and He is continually quenched. Only a few will overcome deception, the remnant. We should ask ourselves, are we in His Kingdom? This is what we should do .
Thanks for sharing!

Are you speaking about those who are now with Him or those who are in the flesh?
Oh but of course, the saints on earth as there is nothing unrighteous in heaven. (Rev. 18:7)

Percicly, we know those who are with Jesus Christ of Nazareth have been made perfect in Him. Those in the flesh must stay on course.

As many as will be perfect, AND?? You are really pulling out of the Apostle's fuller account on the matter. One, Paul had every reason to rest on perfection in Christ as second to none, in which he considered all past tense qualifications ''dung'' and willingly forgot all to press on for the mark of the high calling. Its all there. The babe, the full-age. The carnal element, the spiritual. The Apostle's inclusion of self-admitted faults, the glories of the cross. Its all there and really not that rigorous of a study!

But rest assured of my part, that all may gather at the cross is not some stylistic scheme in which all who hold Him as precious are now deliberately omitted. Again, the truth does not bear this out. And that truth isn't well supportive of confidence in the flesh against under-acheivers.

Who are you to judge another’s servant?
To his own master he stands or falls.
Indeed, he will be made to stand,
for God is able to make him stand
.
(Romans 14:4)

Even Paul knew he had to stay the course.
He uses the metaphor of "finishing the race" or "finishing the course" in several passages, most notably in 2 Timothy 4:7, which states: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Although the vile commentary following Charlie's martyrdom wreaked through every corner of our way of life, including a wide spattering of religious, an invitation was gleefully accepted by their own silent majority sown together by silent yet spoken hearts before His knowledge, that they all may take part in the 'success' for evil which, rises far above the capacity of this thread.

Had they known the miracle of Charlie's gifts, they would have never rejoiced. That chief gift was a NT gatherer.

"Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. (Matthew 12:30)
Do not stop him,” Jesus replied. “For no one who performs a miracle in My name can turn around and speak evil of Me. (Mark 9:38)
"Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that eternal life does not reside in a murderer. (1 John 3:15)
