  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Again I say, if they believe someone should be killed because of their opinion, they should not be upset for being fired because of their own opinion.
As long as it was a violation of the policies and rules of their organization. If there was no such policy then they shouldnt be fired.

Its important to note that rhe left is perfectly fine with firing people who say right wing opinions. And they point out over and over again how free speech restrictions only apply to governement restrictions. They were were fine with firing people who wouldnt follow policy regarding pronouns and rhe argument was always well policy says and free speech only applies to government enforcement.

Well now they are upset over someone celebrating assassination and getting fired while at the same time supporting firing of people who dont want to use preferred pronouns.

He wanted the attacker to be bailed out, and said that whoever bailed him out would be an amazing patriot and hero. The only way that could be true is if the attacker is worthy of praise.

A hero for proving how inconsistent the justice system is along with proving the point of how rhe left operates. I remember the left encouraging people to bail.out those involved in felony rioting.

Sorry dude if that went over your head.

One is (horrible) opinion expression.

The other is how you behave toward people face to face.

These are different.

I just had a random thought. I with all these liberals getting fired, I wonder if they are going to blame Trump for the sudden jump in the unemployment rate?
I mean, freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences, regardless of political beliefs or persuasion. Period.

Yet the the principle still applies. You are dealing with words vs assassination. Real death. Celebrating the assassination of is far worse than refusing to use someone's pronouns. As I am sure you have pointed out companies are not under the Constitutional requirement of free speech. They have the right to restrict speech by policy. The government has passed no law on this, but companies can have rules and policies on this because what a person says can reflect poorly on the company and damage a companies reputation.

Celebrating the actual killing of someone you ideologically disagree with is absolutely abhorrent and damages a companies reputation and violates their policies. They are free to speak their mind and the company is free to fire them. They are under no legal obligation to allow that kind of evil speech. If an employee celebrated the death of George Floyd the company would be free to fire them. And I bet you would support that.

Kilppenstein opines that he may go down as a Nihilist Violent Extremist.
Nihilist? Yes. Violent? Yes. Extremist? Yes. But there's something missing...

Abraham Lincoln, JFK, MLK, Bobby Kennedy. What makes us think we are dealing with anything new?

'No evidence' found yet of ties between Charlie Kirk's shooting and left-wing groups, officials say

Three people familiar with the federal probe into Kirk’s assassination told NBC News that investigators have yet to find a link between the alleged shooter and left-wing groups.

Stephen Miller, the White House deputy chief of staff, said left-wing organizations amounted to a “vast domestic terror movement.”

“With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle and destroy these networks and make America safe again for the American people,” Miller said recently. “It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name.”

As NBC News reported Thursday, that effort is likely to face hurdles.

[Obviously he faces state charges.]

In addition, two of the people familiar with the probe said it may be difficult to charge Robinson at the federal level for Kirk’s killing, while the third source said there is still an expectation that some kind of federal charge is filed against Robinson.

Factors that have complicated the effort to bring charges at the federal level include that Robinson, a Utah resident, did not travel from out of state ... Additionally, Kirk himself is not a federal officer or elected official.

If crazy means disconnected from reality, these are insane thoughts --> “With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle and destroy these networks and make America safe again for the American people,” Miller said recently. “It will happen, and we will do it in Charlie’s name.”
