The American Academy of Pediatrics' (AAP) recent pediatric COVID-19 vaccine recommendationsopens in a new tab or window, which differ from those of the CDC, have raised concerns from HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who responded with an oblique warning to any physicians who might follow the AAP's advice.

"AAP should ... be candid with doctors and hospitals that recommendations that diverge from the CDC's official list are not shielded from liability under the 1986 Vaccine Injury Act," Kennedy posted this week on Xopens in a new tab or window....

Was Kennedy correct about the liability issue? "As has become common for Secretary Kennedy, this is misleading," Dorit Reiss, PhD, a law professor at the University of California San Francisco, said in a Facebook postopens in a new tab or window on Wednesday. "Whether a vaccine falls under VICP [the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, the part of the Vaccine Injury Act that deals with liability issues] has nothing to do with whether AAP recommends it, and the liability protections are not removed by this."

"If a vaccine is covered by VICP, liability protections apply to manufacturers and administrators: anyone claiming a vaccine harm from a childhood vaccine that is under VICP has to go through the program first," she said. "ACIP has not actually changed the current recommendations in ways that affect VICP." Furthermore, "COVID-19 vaccines for children are not under VICP, but that's not because of anything AAP did or the secretary, even, did -- it's because Congress has not yet legislated to create an excise tax for COVID-19 vaccines, and until Congress does that, they're not within VICP."

RFK, Jr is not a quack as he doesn't practice medicine, but he does promote antiscience and quackery. How lovely to have such a man in charge of the nation's health.

#3 should be raw rather than whole milk. It's raw milk that contains all the interesting little critters. It used to keep certain populations in check leaving only the strongest to survive. Thanks to pasteurization, and vaccines, we have become a nation of fat weaklings. /s

Conspicuously absent from this discussion is the fact that the AAP receives an immense amount of funding from multiple pharmaceutical companies that manufacture the vaccines they recommend.. One would think this would present a conflict of interest at least worth disclosing in any discussion of the AAP's recommendations.

Earlier this season, RFK JR announced that the CDC would recommend the latest Covid-19 vaccination only for people over 65 and certain immunosuppressed people, but now he might raise the lower age limit to 75. The CDC site itself says:

CDC recommends a 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine for most adults ages 18 years and older. This includes people who have received a COVID-19 vaccine, people who have had COVID-19, and people with long COVID.

I think the catch here is "2024-2025" when for this season we would be looking for "2025-2026" of which there is no mention. The site has not been well maintained.

Another way to say that is, study shows 25 children died as a result of the COVID vaccine.

Admittedly, I've not read this study yet. But here's what I've read about it:

The reported deaths originated in the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), the government’s database for suspected vaccine harms. Unlike the raw entries often left unexamined, FDA officials say they’ve investigated the cases.

They contacted families, reviewed autopsy results and gathered medical records. It appears that, for the first time since the vaccine rollout, U.S. regulators have attempted a systematic, case-by-case review of paediatric deaths.

Death after a vaccination WOULD qualify as an "Adverse event". Of course, it means absolutely butkiss to causation. THAT is what i'm more interested in.

I am having trouble seeing how many doses of the vaccines have been given to children but I have found that from Dec 2020-June 21 9million were dispensed. So is it fair to say that there have been 30,000,000 vaccine doses given to kids? I think that's likely a conservatives estimate but fine. Frankly, I cannotimagine it is that low given that by 2023 81% of the population was vaccinated (There are 57.6 million under 18 in the US....so that number is likely quite low but fine...)

25 in 30,000,000...given that causation hasn't even been proven I think a reasonable person would see that as a "low risk" activity. Odds of being struck by lightening WITHIN THE CALENDAR YEAR are about 1 in 1.2mil...

I'll tell you this: I would want to see the report and hear from doctors who will study that report to hear their opinion on the science located in it.
If there IS causation, I would want to read about the vector and how THIS particular mRNA vaccines actually CAUSED those deaths.

I mean, IF you wanna talk about a group of people who are working from a bias, it is this administration and the people they hired.

Death after a vaccination does not mean that the vaccination caused the death - for instance, getting hit by a bus. VAERS is, as you know, primarily an early warning system that anyone can update. One person claimed the flu vaccine turned him into the Hulk.

This is a compilation of VAERS reports. And they have verified the children are dead. If all there is is 'post hoc ergo propter hoc' that shouldn't be very influential.
