And who do they mean by the Holy Father? God or the Pope.?
Yea. Pope Leo, the Holy Father.

Yea. Pope Leo, the Holy Father.
What do they mean by Pope Leo’s intentions then? Who he’s praying for or what he himself needs prayers for?
Sorry for all the questions.

Here’s something else I found online:

AI Overview

The St. Dymphna chaplet is inspired by the life and tragic death of Saint Dymphna, who was martyred for refusing her father's incestuous desires, leading to her being venerated as the patron saint of those suffering from mental and emotional disorders. The chaplet serves as a tool for prayer and meditation, offering comfort and a reminder of her courage and resilience.

The life of Saint Dymphna:
  • Early Life & Trauma:
Dymphna's mother died when she was young, causing her father's mental health to decline. In his grief and madness, he attempted to marry his own daughter.

  • Escape and Sanctuary:
To avoid her father's incestuous advances, Dymphna, a devout Christian, fled with her confessor to Gheel, Belgium. There, she built a sanctuary for the sick.

  • Martyrdom:
Her father eventually found her and, when she refused him again, he brutally beheaded her.

  • Veneration:
Dymphna's story led to her becoming a patron saint for those suffering from mental illness, emotional distress, and even those fleeing abusive situations, according to Local Catholic Churches.
Inspiration for the chaplet:
  • A Token of Solace:
The St. Dymphna chaplet is an inspirational token to provide comfort to friends, family, and colleagues who are struggling with mental health.

  • Focusing on Her Virtues:
The chaplet, often featuring 15 beads in honor of her 15 years of life, serves as a focal point for prayer, inviting a deeper connection with her healing grace and unwavering faith.

  • Symbolic Meaning:
The beads can symbolize virtues and acts of resilience, while the medal featuring St. Dymphna's image offers inspiration and a reminder that God designs earthly events for a reason.

  • Connecting with Heaven:
By holding the chaplet and praying the prayers associated with it, individuals are encouraged to renew their faith and find solace in divine love, creating a direct link to Heaven through prayer.

His monthly intentions.
This forum shows me how little I know about Catholicism, despite being born Catholic and attending Catholic grade school from 1st-8th grade.

Are private revelations different from other ones?
Private revelations are for the person spoken to. They are on a level that edifies the person that they can understand to help them. While private revelations can be shared they are not an obligatory belief for others. They can edify others of course but it’s not something set in stone. With Faustina being a saint now… it sure seems like there is a certain level of approval but not sure how that all works as far as the revelations are concerned. But it is something I’m attracted to personally. Who does not like mercy?! ;)

I’m really enjoying this thread. I’m learning a lot. And realizing how little I know. We didn’t learn much of anything with regards to Catholicism back in grade school.

Don’t worry Faith. Everything is a constant learning experience and it should be when you think about it. :)

So many Catholics back in the day say the same. They went through the steps but nothing really stuck. Thankfully, the Church is finally recognizing that there are many Catholics that were not catechized well and they are trying to do better. But on the other hand, those that are interested in their faith need to learn to also feed themselves. Children just going through the motions are going to result in adults going through the motions with little knowledge. Those are the ones evangelized by Protestants to spread a lot of anti-Catholic nonsense never knew their Faith to begin with. I really do hope the Church starts to really invest in the Faith of those they are shepherding.

We did have to buy a small Bible (NT?) in 7th or 8th grade and I remember having to read that for awhile and these “religion” work sheets that fit into a binder but that’s about it.

I feel like I should add @FaithT… I was not referring to you. I was talking about rabid ex-Catholics that have turned anti-Catholic from the things they were taught by others outside the Catholic faith.

I kind of feel like the reason why there is resentment at times between cradle Catholics and converts thinking we are a little whacked out is because we so have a lot more to reflect on as far as Scriptural knowledge, etc. I have had people here even say converts were ruining the Church. We, I guess, are too conservative.

Oh, that’s ok.

i think that when I first started posting here, as a former Catholic, turned Lutheran/Non Denominational, contemplating returning to Catholicism, you thought I was here to start trouble.

Thanks. Sometimes I think some of my questions are dumb, things I should’ve grown up knowing, but we really weren’t taught much. I once asked a friend who went to the same church and grade school I did, but was three years behind me, if they learned a lot in “religion” class and they didn’t either.
