Epstein files are different. They probably had a lot more eyes on them, and as court docs would be harder to modify so long after the fact. Plus it would not just be "the left" who raises an eyebrow. Consider how many of Trumps appointees and their fans "knew" there was "something big" in them.
Yeah but if that something big isn't Trump then they'll have been tampered with.
Doctors report is totally different. They can just massage the message before it even leaves they gate since they are the ones who create it.
Sure, the doctor is only risking a range of severe penalties, including loss of their medical license, criminal charges (like fraud or forgery) leading to fines and jail time, potential HIPAA violation penalties etc for falsifying medical records.

Its not just "the left" who believes that.

I dont think theres anything to worry about from Trumps DoJ or Pentagon - if its a military doc.

That’s what pardons are for.

It's only going to be Trump’s for 3 measly years. He has the rest of his career to worry about

The evidence will be cold by then.

Plus theres probably no crime in a bunch of generic "he's great" statements even if he isnt great.

Sane people left Twitter ages ago. Now it's mostly Musk fanboys, white supremacists and foreign influence networks.
Twitter is certainly more slanted towards the right than it was before, but we're not talking about something like Rumble or Bit Chute here (or, in the opposite direction, Bluesky).

The left clamors for the release of tax and medical records, Epstein files and so on. But of course if they don't say what the left wants them to say, then they're fake.

lol, the clamor for the Epstein files came predominantly from the right. That’s why there was such a brouhaha when Trump et al did a 180 on the subject.

Find that very hard to believe.
Why to you find 20 lb in 5 years hard to believe? After looking at more recent photos, he does seem less pudgy than he did in the past. Twenty pounds is plenty feasible over that time scale even without meds.

I don’t care about mudslinging either. We are where we are. The Trump addiction will continue long after he is out office just like it did last time. Politics have turned into a national illness. Haters gonna hate. Because they find their identities in it. Seems like it’s all they have. It’s very sad on all sides.
While I can agree that Democrats tend to focus more on Trump than on their own ideas for governing, the flip side of that problem is there is a significant portion of the GOP out there that revere Trump so much, for whatever reason, that any legitimate criticism of the man is ignored, or simply labeled "left wing hate" and dismissed out of hand. And rest assured, there are legitimate criticisms. But MAGA will never listen. They are incapable of hearing even the slightest criticism of their fearless leader.

But, I will grant that Democrats would be much better off not focusing on Trump so much and putting forth their own better ideas for governing and moving the country forward. A large part of that is a lack of leadership at the top of the party. I don't know, maybe Gavin Newsom will provide that, maybe not. But the focus does need to be on showing the voters a viable alternative to the authoritarian vision that MAGA seems intent on moving this country toward.

Basically, I don’t disagree. But the political tribalism is a huge problem on both sides as well as the hypocrisy… both sides. Politics has morphed in to a cult where all are too blind to see. Also, finding identity in ideologies is not only a bad idea but a miserable way to live one’s life. Not good company and little else is discussed as if it’s the only option. It is a sad and sorry situation all the way around. What happened to (We the people)? We should unite and change the status quo instead of attacking our fellow Americans. We are the ones that are supposed to guide things to inspire those in office. We’ve gotten lazy in that aspect. Instead we attack the (others) we see in power and each other. It’s become an American past time so much that even those outside the USA are following suit. It’s time to stop the armchair quarterbacking just because it’s become some sort of sick hobby while doing nothing ourselves. We play right into the hands that hold their higher office. We expect them to fix it while most do nothing but hold down the partisan lines and do nothing but complain and wait for these people to perform a miracle as if we are watching the tail end of a team trying to win the super bowl in the last few minutes of a game. All they do is just drop the seeds and watch them sprout amongst the populace while they play politics as usual.

I'd say we need to drop the cult of personality surrounding politicians, and elect leaders who will actually govern, instead of those who tell us what we want to hear.

I haven’t experienced any authoritarian influences in my personal life so far. I really don’t think any Americans have except nourishing fears based on biased newsfeed.

[Aside: I’ve always heard the phrase “here, here!’ as “hear here!” either way, this gets one!]
Here, here!
Part of this is that we tire at the constant back-and-forth of political rhetoric and strongly desire a “one-way-or-the-other” climax…but politics isn’t so much about “winning” as it is about lurching on, one-day-at-a-time in that “two steps forward, one step back” which we’ve always have had!

We should unite and change the status quo instead of attacking our fellow Americans. We are the ones that are supposed to guide things to inspire those in office. We’ve gotten lazy in that aspect.
We have been lured away from “love thy neighbor” by “my neighbor is the enemy!”
We don’t even agree on what “the problems” are anymore; the “solutions” then leave many without a voice since their concerns aren’t addressed.

Politics is hard. It has always been so.
Some have be seduced into thinking that a strong leader can make politics simple & easy.
This is never so…or to be more precise, this is never so and just.

We will be okay, just keep talking.
