  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The growing use of witchcraft in the dating world

I recently came across a video where a Christian woman was discussing the topic of people - mostly women - practicing witchcraft on men who unintentionally piqued their interest and have fallen victim to these demonic wiles. I already was aware of witchraft in the world but this was a rude reminder for me. We need to be more vigilant, especially about who we allow into our lives as prospective partners - You never know if they are in their room writing your name on the bottom of a leaf or something! However, true Christians are given unpentrable protection against the kingdom of darkness. As a believer, witchcraft cannot work on you unless you open a door through fear, sin, or unbelief.
Psalm 91:5 : "
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day"

Thus, we must remain vigilant and fervent in faith.

AMBASSADOR HAT

This thread has been moved from The Junk Drawer to Singles (Only*), as this this thread’s alert would more appropriate to discuss with those who may need it. This is a problem or issue related to being single. Please keep this rule in mind as you continue:
  • Requesting specific prayers for deliverance from demonic activity, or requesting advice on how to exorcise or bind demons is not allowed. Posts which attempt to exorcise or bind demons, or posts which give instructions on how to complete deliverance are not allowed. Members concerned about demonic activity/deliverance may speak with a CF Chaplain in the Ask a Chaplain forum.
Since we believe that witchcraft uses demons, this rule applies to anything they might do. This discussion needs to be limited to early warning signs and evasion of bad actors, not deliverance instructions.

warning signs and evasion
In me is where the real problem can be. I need to stay with God and do what He guides me to do, in relating with people.

I must be unselfish in how I seek companionship. By being honest with God and people, this can make me able to avoid the wrong people . . . by trusting only as God guides according to what He knows.

And yes there are warning signs . . . including how selfish people can mainly talk about what they want and expect and require and demand, and it does not have anything or much to do with how Jesus wants us to be with Him.

There are warning signs; and some of these can be in - -> us <- -

unforgiveness

beauty discrimination

promising how I can use someone for what I want

not depending on God

People into witchcraft are not going to relate and talk about things, the way Jesus has us sharing. Even if they don't tell you, you can see what they do not say and do not do.

About hoping for things we want > these are what we are capable of desiring now. What about if we mature in Jesus? Then we will be more-so discovering all the good things which Jesus has wanted to share with us; so why set up limits, now, for who we will become later???? And we can be guided to whomever Jesus wants to share with us; and Jesus is trusting us with the person He desires to share with us.

I think witchcraft is everywhere. The Bible teaches you are in the Spirit or you are not. We think of witchcraft as supernatural, & while that exists, don't let anyone tell you otherwise & fool you, the 'everyday' kind is far more sinister.

It is strange that you wrote this...

Because I have a family member that is dating a very bad woman right now, and multiple people have thought that she has placed a curse on him. Many bad things happen to him.

I do not know if he has been cursed, but I think God could be allowing it in his life to repent and turn to Jesus for salvation.

That's a good attitude!

This is very peculiar and not a subject you’d usually encounter on social media haphazardly on your feed. The algorithm is responsive and delivers content along the lines of the things we consume. You’re unlikely to have videos on witchcraft (outside of sermons) let alone something as narrow as christian women using witchcraft on the opposite sex.

Location is the other culprit and it’s probable you’ll see greater discussions along these lines in Nigeria than the US. I don’t believe this is a huge phenomenon in America nor are there pools of women doing this. The closest thing the majority will come to the same is praying awry. If you’re referencing syncretic practices that use christian symbolism that’s a different subject. Many call themselves believers while their actions prove otherwise.

Nevertheless, there’s a growing increase in visibility pertaining to witchcraft. There was a time you didn’t see content along those lines or pins on Pinterest, books on Amazon, etc. There’s several Tik-Tok trends that may explain this in addition to the obvious.

And it should be noted, wrong associations can result in negative experiences especially when there’s sexual involvement which amplifies the problem. This is equally true for non carnal connections and we’ve all seen or experienced the downsides of bad connections. Curses are petitions to the spirit realm and the bible addresses them in proverbs.

Like the sparrow in her wandering, like the swallow in her flying, So the curse without cause does not come and alight [on the undeserving].

This is what we mean in spiritual warfare as a door, cause or legal right. A specific sin or provocation that allows the curse to go forth.

It is written in Scripture that witchcraft and sorcery deceives the whole world. Not just a little bit. The whole world.
Freedom is rarely seen or found. (although seek, and keep seeking, and you shall find - the promise of Jesus, is absolutely truth)
