Trump goes after mail-in voting and election machines; "States are merely an “agent” for the Federal Government", must do what President says

He says go back to the original more failsafe system and do what other democracies have already done. Oh my the totalitarian horror of it all.
Psst...Washingtonian. As exemplified by our fine state it works quite well.

"Pound sand"

If Trump attempts to ban mail-in voting, [AZ Sec of State] Fontes told Axios, "After I tell him to pound sand, I will probably ask the attorney general to file suit."
In a statement to Axios, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes said Trump "has zero authority to interfere in Arizona's elections" and she'll "vigorously fight any unlawful attempt by the federal government to tell Arizona how we can administer" them.

Fun fact:

Nearly 75% of Arizona voters cast their ballots by mail in the 2024 general election, per a report by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.

....and we have been voting by mail for over 30 years.
If the mail service used is the USA postal service expect Trump to order it to cease delivery of votes.

How/why does it work better? How is it more trustworthy and efficient?
Because it's convenient. No lines to wait in. And audits are required.

I hope President Trump implements these before voting begins in 2026.

Based on projections for the US economy next year, Democratic Party may secure a majority of at least 60 seats in the House of Representatives. If election irregularities are addressed by that time, there would be fewer challenges to the DNC assuming control of Congress.

I support President Trump in addressing voting issues to ensure a secure 2026 election that Americans can trust.
Trump's voters will only trust elections where Trump wins.

He may try, but the action would not be legal.
He will state that if the states are in charge of voting as per the constitution, then they are in charge of delivering mail in ballots, indeed for the federal postal service to deliver them would be unconstitutional interfering in an election.

MAGA will endure, but Trump voters are not going to be voting for Trump again. So it's more like MAGA will only trust elections where MAGA approved candidates win.

Some conservative, Republican, and Trump voters acknowledge that U.S. elections are neither fraudulent nor rigged. However, they do not address the issue when they observe someone disseminating misinformation.

They are more interested provoking the liberal.

A trump supported said "I know President Trump can't run in 2028, but I have a Trump 2028 sticker on my car just to provoke liberals." No wonder politics are so divisive.

I meant the way system itself operates outside of voter convince.

No it doesn't. In Arizona, voters have full confidence in mail in voting. Everyone was content...until a certain candidate started lying about our system in 2016.

The GOP made a concerted effort to encourage their voters to vote by mail in 2024. If Trump wants to discourage MAGA voters from voting by mail...so be it. However, he has no legal authority to dictate to the states.

I fully expect Trump to run in 2028 if there are no medical reasons that prevent him.

Wanna bet?

So that expansion only existed in 2020?
No the drop in votes can be better explained with a less popular candidate in 2024. I believe either Harris or Biden would have got about the same number of votes. People were just less motivated to vote for a Democrat last election.

If that happens, then I wont be voting in the next election, as being 84 years old, am not able to stand in lines very long without the need to sit down. Also, in a presidential election, they use the college vote not the populace vote.

Only if he feels its needed to head off the possibility of jail time for real felonies like election interference etc.

Short of that he'll be worn out and throw his considerable weight behind a Trump kid or Kirsti Noem etc.

3 ways Trump will remain president. 1. We will be at war. 2. Trump will do away with term limits. 3. Trump will declare himself a prime minister or another title akin to it. Mentally, we get stuck on our early 30's, while physically, we get old and die.

3 ways Trump will remain president.
He can try, but he will be violating the law and should be immediately arrested.
1. We will be at war.
The Constitution makes no exception to the end of a presidential term (or Congressional one for that matter) because of war or other emergency.
2. Trump will do away with term limits.
Presidential term limits are part of the Constitution. Presidents aren't even part of the process of changing the Constitution
3. Trump will declare himself a prime minister or another title akin to it. Mentally, we get stuck on our early 30's, while physically, we get old and die.
We have no prime minister. Even if elected by the House as Speaker, he would not have the executive powers of the President, only the power to preside over the House.
