No, they claimed Russians interfered with the election. And that was proven sufficiently to the tune of several guilty verdicts (and guilty pleads) from members of the Trump administration.

No one has said elections being secure is a bad thing. Only that the claims of an unsecured election, from Trump and his acolytes, is wildly exaggerated.

To be specific, the federal Congress has some authority over the methods of federal elections according to Article 1, Section 4 of the US Constitution. The president does not.
