Because people are still being robbed and killed. Because there may be less than at some other point in time is not a good argument to justify ignoring the problem.
I could also ask why the current powers that be in local DC have let it get so bad. This whole argument boils down to Trump hatred. He is actually doin what he said he would do which is a rare thing for Presidents.

Liberals have been laughing at Trump for a long time but that is soon to end and has already started as many are freaking out about being exposed.
While liberals are screaming about statistics too many DC residents and visitors are still victims of violent crime. Why haven't the liberals in charge done more to fix the problem so Trump didn't have to do their job for them.
Show your evidence that Trump is a pedophile and regain at least some credibility.

He's been claiming to "expose" people for a long time. Guess how many of them were actually exposed? When it all shook out he was the one convicted of numerous felonies. Talk is cheap. Convictions are real.
He's now claiming that the steep drop in crime in Washington D.C. over the past years means there's an emergency. Which is kinda how you'd expect a criminal to react, isn't it?

There's been a steep drop in crime in D.C. Most of us think that the people in charge should be commended for bringing it down. But of course, criminals like Trump probably have a different opinion.
Most of us realize it's just an attempt to deflect attention from a growing scandal that even some of his supporters are warning might take him down. And if this current distraction attempt doesn't make people stop talking about Trump and Epstein and other pedophiles, he'll try something else.

Trump just keeps bringing up new things to deflect our attention from it. If I was Trump, I'd just come clean about what's in those files. Assuming that they wouldn't have damaging information in them.

It most certainly did. Just because it wasn't doesn't mean it should not have.
Yes. A decrease in crime isn't relative. Dropping from beating your wife from 10 times a day to 6, doesn't mean things are great and nothing more needs to be done.
I think the answer has been provide ad nauseum. I'll try one last time. DC governance is different than those other cities. The feds have no authority over those cities. I suppose if one of those cities asked then the feds could help them, but im not sure. DC however is not the same. The president can declare an emergency there for a short period of time and the feds can assist local LE. Congress can authorize further action. That cant be done anywhere else.
