He does care about other people's feelings. Particularly those who elected him. He just nolonger cares about your feeling, or any other liberal for that matter. Because he has come to the conclusion that the vast majority of his opponents are mentally incapable of approving anything he does whether it is good or bad. We have seen it during Trump's address to congress in which every democrat sat on their hands when good and wholesome news was given. The whining and complaining from the left is just white noise, and the MAJORITY of the American people, to include Trump, has stopped paying attention.
This reads as your opinion, not his. ^_^

I dont care if you have me on ignore. I am replying anyway because you posted. Frankly, your response is a desperate plea of defeat. Where was your cry about presidents being the president of the "entire country" when Joe Biden called all MAGA supports a grave threat of our democracy? Please spare me the nonsense.
President Trump garnered 49.8% support of the electorate and has been acting as if he’s got a 60% mandate…nothing spells out a threat to Democracy quite like the tyranny of minority-rule.

It's not about majority, it's about plurality.

You got a better way?

Violent Crime in D.C. Hits 30 Year Low

Total violent crime for 2024 in the District of Columbia is down 35% from 2023 and is the lowest it has been in over 30 years, according to data collected by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and announced by United States Attorney Matthew M. Graves.

In addition to the overall violent crime reduction, homicides are down 32%; robberies are down 39%; armed carjackings are down 53%; assaults with a dangerous weapon are down 27% when compared with 2023 levels, with the District reporting the fewest assaults with dangerous weapons and burglaries in over 30 years.

Violent crimes are down by 25% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, as the downward trend continues.
There you go again JospehZ, using facts to counter perfectly sound agenda driven ignorance. You must be one of those there liberals I've been hearing about so much lately, the ones loaded with compassion and critical thinking. Whatever next?!

Too bad those are fake facts.

I'm not in the USA, so what I write is about any place that has crime, but is anyone looking at the causes of it? I know it's sin, which is where the churches have a job to do, bringing people to repentance and providing a loving, supportive environment as they turn their lives around.

Also, are other factors contributing to it? Low wages, poor job opportunities, lack of affordable housing, mental health issues, drug and excess alcohol use (either causing the problems or the result of them), disparity between rich and poor, greed by some employers and landlords, lack of education? The list goes on. I know many people suffer from these things without turning to crime, but for others either they don't resist the temptation or the stresses of life get too much for them.

So he was forced to take a leave of absence with no credible evidence. Got it.
That would be standard procedure when there are allegations of misconduct against a member of law enforcement. It doesn't prove anything one way or the other.

I'd rather have that than lawlessness and crime, which seem to be the only two choices now.

.....that is what Trump would have you believe. There are many alterntives to addressing crime in D.C. that does not involve the National Guard or the Border Patrol roaming the streets.

...this certainly did not help: [Congress approves D.C.'s city budge]

March 11. [...to date, the funding has not been restored despite promises to the Senate to do so]

The Republican-led Congress in March slashed D.C.’s local budget by more than $1 billion through a federal spending bill.

D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson (D) said that, after city officials’ warnings, “I’m disappointed that the House leadership chose to ignore the facts.” The money D.C. will be forced to cut, he said, will simply sit in the local treasury.

“Do they not care that we will have to furlough police, firefighters and teachers?” Mendelson said. “And for what purpose? The dollars will simply collect to pay the police, firefighters and teachers, but will not be able to be spent.”

Exactly what is it the National Guard can do other than having a menacing presence?
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in a Fox News interview Monday that the troops will not get involved in law enforcement, despite having “broad latitude.” An Army spokesman said Guard troops will mostly provide administrative and logistical support for police, but in some instances they will be stationed at intersections to deter crime, The Post reported.

An Army official, speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation, told The Post that all of the roughly 800 Guard members will be armed, with the initial plan being to serve in rotational shifts of about 200 members each.
