Indeed. It was never a big deal in the first place. It was made into a big deal because republicans and democrats questioned the ex-president Bill Clinton having a meeting with AG Loretta Lynch in June 2016, while his wife, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, was onder DOJ investigation for her email shenanigans.
And it was perfectly fine when Obama's AG referred to himself as the President's wingman

If the DOJ had been weaponized against him, him appointing his lawyer as head of DOJ is hilarious.

The 2016 Lynch and Clinton meeting attracted significant criticism from both Republicans and Democrats
And he wasn’t president so it wasn’t his DOJ

From the Reuters article: "A spokesman for Vance said the dinner, first reported by CNN".
This is called “breaking the story”; if other news outlets care to, they’ll do their own reporting with their own sources [and Spin], nice of you to notice.
If you think that CCN breaking the story first gives you pause to believe the reporting, that’s fine, but what about the other news places also jumping in on the story?

CNN first reported the meeting that didn't actually take place, would take place Wednesday August 6th. Therefore I said: 'Maybe next time CNN will report on a secret not secret powwow after it actually happens'. Other outlets like Reuters picking up and running with CNN's false report doesn't cancel out what I said.

After CNN first reported it. Other sources picking up on it is one more reason why CNN should have waited until the supposed meeting actually took place (which it never would have). Now they all have egg on face shame.
Okay…let’s play the hypothetical game…
An American Administration in the far, far future, plans a meeting what to do about all the pushy* Christians…would we want to hear about such a meeting before it happens or after the blessed event?

*by no means, “all”, just them “pushy“ ones.

We would hear about it before if it’s anything like the present it would be leaked because people can’t seem to keep quiet about anything

Yes, when Merrick Garland and Chris Wray were under Biden, when did you ever see them at White house cabinet meetings?
Garland, I hope, would have been in many…it is a cabinet level position.

Top Trump officials discussed Epstein at White House meeting Wednesday night

A much-anticipated meeting between Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, Vice President JD Vance and others was moved from Vance’s residence to the White House Wednesday night after intense media coverage, a source familiar with the logistics told CNN.
They discussed a number of topics, including the Jeffrey Epstein case and potential next steps, the source said.
The meeting was originally planned to take place at Vance’s DC home and was also supposed to include White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, CNN previously reported. The administration’s handling of the Epstein case, as well as the need to craft a unified response, was expected to be a main focus of the dinner.
This will be the basis for The Residence season Three.

Yes, the AG is the office that lets the President know what that President can legally do, given the constraints placed upon the Office, by the Constitution and Acts of Congress and what rulings the courts hand down…that’s always been that position’s function.

If the President wants to do “something” it’s the AG’s office/mission, to find a legal basis underpinning that “something”.

If the President wants to do a lot of “somethings”, then I’d be sure that the AG visited/called the White House a lot.

If the President should decide that a certain US Attorney (or other) should no longer be employed by the DOJ, the AG will let the chain-of-command know and their boss will fire them.

This is normal/normal adjacent.

Point missed.
The criticism is actually, “Lookie now at the media are doing their own jobs wrong!”

This is about played-out.

What difference would it make?

Other than hearing the meeting actually took place, as a opposed to hearing it's going to take place, it isn't going to take place, it did did take place.

Often CNN, and more often The Washington post, will claim an anonymous source came to them exclusively with whatever claim which launched their expose. There's nothing wrong with other outlets picking up on it. But if it turns out to be false or incorrect, whoever got that ball rolling should bear the brunt of the blame.

While I wouldn't be surprised if Trump was in the Epstein files I feel sure that if there was anything damaging it would have been leaked already.
His DOJ literally told him he is in the file. Bondi, his pseudo DOJ full time consigliere had FBI agents go find all the times his name was mentioned, and redacted his name.
