It should be noted that Israel tried that for roughly 40 years. They ended it in 2005 because the cost in lives and money was too high. Do you think it'll go any differently this time around?
That is what Netanyahu wants to do and announced it yesterday. I think the vote goes to the Knesset today.

That doesn't answer the question.

There is no answer to your question since it has not happened yet. Ask me again later.
Surely you have thoughts on the matter, which is all I asked for.

It would be yet another misstep on Israel's part if Netanyahu's plan is allowed to move forward.

"The die has been cast. We're going for the full conquest of the Gaza Strip – and defeating Hamas," local journalists quote a senior official as saying.

Responding to reports that the army chief and other military leaders oppose the plan, the unnamed official said: "If that doesn't work for the chief of staff, he should resign."

The families of hostages fear such plans could endanger their loved ones, with 20 out of 50 believed to be alive in Gaza, while polls suggest three in four Israelis instead favour a ceasefire deal to return them.

When is it a miss step by the terrorists? Your opinions seem to be one sided.

Israel offered $5 million and free passage for the family of anyone that gives solid information about the hostages .- No Questions Asked - NOT ONE PERSON IN GAZA TOOK THEM UP ON THEIR OFFER. There are no innocent "civilians" in Gaza. It is high time Israel evicted the savages and made the land the paradise that it can be. Send them all to Hell and let God sort them out.

Why wasn't this offer made in October 2023 rather than more than a year later and after much of Gaza was left in ruin? Why would anyone in Gaza expect Israel to follow through with such a great offer after so much death and destruction? I'm sure that any Gazans who might have information on where the hostages were being held would be thinking this offer was some sort of trick.

There are no innocent "civilians" in Gaza.
How many Gazans would actually have information on where the hostages are being held? A few hundred? a few thousand? The fact of the matter is very few of the more than 2 million people living in Gaza would have any knowledge about the hostages. To say there are no innocent people in Gaza isn't using fair judgement.

They did, on October 24th 2023 they started offering an award and safe passage:
After Isreal had killed thousands of innocent people, this offer also came too late to get a possitive response.

Hamas is a terrorist group that is an enemy to both Israel and the Palestinian people. Hamas, along with the other terrorist groups operating in the Palestinian territories, must be eradicated. That being said, Israel has and continues to take steps that are counterproductive in achieving that outcome.

What productive steps should Israel take?

There are more than 2 million people living in Gaza; half are children, and all are suffering living under Hamas' control and Israel's response to the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack. These people are not Hamas; they are people trapped in an unimaginable situation. Making the claim that there are no innocent people in Gaza ignores reality.

I gave some examples of what Israel could do earlier in the thread, but the immediate step Israel should take at this point is agreeing to a ceasefire and allowing humanitarian aid to flow into Gaza from all available sources. This should be followed by agreeing to a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza in exchange for all of the remaining hostages being released. After this has been achieved, a more comprehensive plan on how to rebuild Gaza and address the grievances that are at the heart of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict can begin.

After the incursion from Gaza any hope for it remaining free of Israeli occupation as over with. At this point the Gazans will be lucky to to remain in their territory at all.

In your post #12 you cited a jstor article that stated that 40% of terrorist group have been defeated through policing. Why would you not cite that as a possibility considering Israel’s plan to fully occupy Gaza? I would think that, since Hamas is the de facto government of Gaza, Israel would not want to give them the chance to consolidate power once more.

Sure, I can see your point about the toddlers, but the babes in arms or still in the womb? All guilty?

Do you even see them as "people"?
