The settlers were not foreign.
It's a historical fact that the majority of Jewish settlers arriving in Palestine during the late 19th and early 20th centuries were foreigners.

The land wssnt there's. They had no country. There was no invasion. The settlers were not foreign. Equating a land with no nation and unowned with an established nation with national borders, government and laws is foolish.

In the area they were and are most definitely anti-semetic. They did not want a Jewish nation. Every time the orders for a two state solution they said no. They did not want a Jewish state. They wanted all or nothing. Thats why they attacked.

The fact you and so many on this board are defending them is extremely concerning.

The left just keeps on defending the actions of anti-semetic terrorists. Its insane.

I'm done with this thread. The left just disgusts me with their justification of the anti-semetism on campuses and their defense of terrorists in telling us we should understand them. When their ideas are all based on the lie that land was stolen.
That's your story and it appears you will stick to it, but you still haven't told us where you got it.

Rheee have been plenty of the leftists on these boards who have offered that excuse in defense of Palistinians attacking Israel. We have to understand the anger as if its some sort of excuse.
Do you have any concept of empathy? Understanding someone's anger does not excuse the actions that they commit out of anger.
I wonder if we have to understand the anger of a man who beats his wife because he believes she has cheated on him.
You don't "have" to understand anything. But I do empathize with the anger of someone who has been cheated on. That doesn't make it right that he resorts to violence, but I do understand where it comes from. That's empathy.
And I saw NO call to understand the anger of the Jews after their children were slaughtered. No instead we got the call to understand the anger of the Palestinians.
I understand the anger of the Jews as well - but in the context of the discussion we've been having, it's irrelevant, because no one has been talking about how the Jews have no call to be angry about their situation.

Legally, perhaps (that's debatable). But they certainly thought of it as theirs. And since we're talking about people's feelings and emotions rather than dry legal theory, perception is important.
They had no country.
True, but they wanted one.
There was no invasion.
I never made that claim, but if you contend that the mass-migration of Jews to Palestine wasn't an invasion, then do you concede that the mass migration of people from Central and South America to the US also isn't an invasion?
The settlers were not foreign.
Most of them were European, and had been in Europe for centuries. Heck of a lot longer than Europeans have been in North America. Are we foreigners in the US?
Equating a land with no nation and unowned with an established nation with national borders, government and laws is foolish.
It's not exactly the same, and I never claimed that it was. It's an analogy.
In the area they were and are most definitely anti-semetic. They did not want a Jewish nation. Every time the orders for a two state solution they said no. They did not want a Jewish state. They wanted all or nothing. Thats why they attacked.
So you continue to claim. You've yet to back these claims up.
The fact you and so many on this board are defending them is extremely concerning.

And I find it extremely concerning that you so readily broad-brush millions of people as "antisemitic terrorists" and are perfectly happy to designate any criticism of Israel as "antisemitism." I think that empathy is important, and it seems to be a concept that fewer and fewer people - especially within right-wing politics - have a grasp of. There's a disturbing eagerness to dehumanize entire groups of people based on the actions of a few of them, with no attempts to understand them or address the issues that created the situation. And when people try to point this out to you, you resort to name-calling and labelling and repeating the same dogmatic, evidence-free claims rather than engaging in a conversation or trying to explain your position further.

Most of that comes from conservative Christians, not Jews themselves. It's about a Christian agenda, not a Jewish one.

And what about the ones who are beating up pro-Palestinian protestors?

UCLA clashes: Pro-Palestinian protesters attacked by Israel supporters

Plea deal/Diversion ends hate crime case from attack on pro-Palestinian encampment at UCLA

  • Malachi Marlan-Librett, accused of assault and a hate crime in 2024 for attacking a pro-Palestinian UCLA encampment, will have charges dismissed if he completes a diversionary program.
  • Despite hundreds of people being arrested during protests at UCLA and USC last year, only three have faced criminal charges.
Malachi Marlan-Librett, 28, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, battery and a hate crime for two different incidents on the UCLA campus last year, court records show. Under the terms of a July 7 plea deal he must attend 90 hours of therapy and anti-bias training, according to court records. If he complies, all charges will be dismissed.

Marlan-Librett allegedly attacked “protesters with chemical weapons” and yelled racial epithets during the melee on May 1, 2024, according to a civil lawsuit filed against UCLA by many of the pro-Palestinian demonstrators. Video published by CNN last year also shows a man identified as Marlan-Librett kicking people and trying to hit them with a broken broom.

[As for the other two.]

Edan On, 19, was caught on camera swinging a pipe at residents of the encampment last year, records show. On’s passport was seized after his arrest, but returned to him after the L.A. County district attorney’s office declined to bring felony charges.

[On then skipped town and joined the IDF.]

[And one charge against someone on the pro-Palestinian side seems to still be in process.]

Matthew Katz, a pro-Palestinian protester, was also charged with battery, false imprisonment and resisting arrest at the encampment. He denied all wrongdoing through his attorney, Sabrina Darwish.
