Biden’s top aides lived in ‘fog of denial’ over president’s cognitive decline: insider

Chris Whipple interviewed several members of the former president’s camp for his new book “Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History,” which details the “stunning extent to which Joe Biden’s inner circle became lost in a kind of fog of denial.”

“They [just] convinced themselves, in effect, they believed what they wanted to believe instead of their lying eyes, even during the debate when everything went south,” Whipple said on Fox News.

Well, this should put to rest the rumors that they were intentionally hiding things from the American people or secretly running the nation as a nefarious cabal.
I doubt that. Remember how often the narrative switched between Biden as a Bond villain crime boss and a doddering idiot unable to form coherent sentences. I'm not sure if it's because they can't make up their minds, or they want it both ways so they can spin anything that happens whichever way they like.

Either way, President Biden is out of politics now, so it doesn't matter. But anything to distract from Trump's current issues, right?

-- A2SG, I'd detail those problems, but who has the time to list all of them?

I think Umberto Eco had it right. The enemy must be both incredibly strong (so you're a hero for standing up to him) and extremely weak (to make you feel secure in standing up to him). They hold those beliefs at the same time and don't perceive the contradiction. It's doublethink, like Orwell described it.

Besides that, it obviously wasn't Biden himself that was doing the bond villain stuff, but rather his "handlers", the [insert your favorite hate target here] who were directing him from the shadows (but were still absolutely powerless to do anything when faced with the righteous resistance of the right).

It's funny how often Biden went from being Darth Vader to the king in the Princess Bride, and back again.

And amazing how much detailed information about the inner workings of this hidden cabal that those on the right have. Almost as if they're reading their minds or something.

-- A2SG, kind of like the narrator in an espionage novel...hmmm.....

Sounds like a cop-out.

Poor Biden. He struggled, but he managed to do the job he was drafted for--to keep the real left of the Democratic party out of the game.
Funny because, first of all, Biden was never drafted into his job as if he was manditorily obligated to perform. He voluntarily campaigned and was elected. Second, if what you say is true, what does that tell you about the Democratic party that a single man was drafted to be the leader of the free world just to keep the DNC in check?

Only Biden’s aid? Entire Democratic Party remains in denial.

I have spoken with some Democrats who remain dissatisfied with the outcome of the election. They acknowledge concerns about the process of nominating Harris, but maintain that if President Biden had been the nominee, their party have secured a victory.

This is one instance of a number of people who have come for us and spoken about Biden‘s decline.

I don’t mean this is being snarky, but perhaps you need a different news outlet because it seems you’re not getting the full story.

On top of that his decline was obvious and publicly displayed the few times he was allowed to be in public.

Telling someone online to read other news sources without knowing their background is one of the most arrogant comments I've seen in a long time.

Because it was put to him that he was the only possible candidate and his long-time loyalty to the Democratic party was invoked. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Obama who talked him into it. He did manage to win once.
Second, if what you say is true, what does that tell you about the Democratic party that a single man was drafted to be the leader of the free world just to keep the DNC in check?
A leader in the globalist tradition of Clinton and Obama. A labor candidate could never raise the big corporate bucks necessary for a campaign, and the populist base that might have otherwise supported a labor candidate had already been driven away by elitist Democrats and their position on the culture war sex stuff.

Both denial and wishful thinking.

Where did he say to read other news sources without knowing their background?
