The following Islamic text is a display of the attitude problem that many Palestinians must endure to be a good follower of the religion they hold.

Do not greet the Jews and the Christians before they greet you and when you meet any one of them on the roads force him to go to the narrowest part of it.
(Sahih Muslim 39:16, see also Sunan Abu Dawud 41:5186)[5]

To assume this attitude stops at the bullying of Jews on roads, would be naive. It's goes much further than that, all the way to the elimination of the Jews altogether.
Textual and historical context are key to interpreting and understanding religious texts, and if one reads them without knowing the circumstances surrounding a text’s origin, they will almost certainly misunderstand what they are reading. The hadith you quoted is context-specific and doesn't call for Muslims to bully non-Muslims. It was written around 1,400 years ago when Muslims were in a state of conflict with the Banu Qurayza, who had violated a treaty with the Muslims, and other tribes in Arabia; it applies to those Jews and Christians that were hostile to the Muslims. There's also no teaching in Islam that calls for the elimination of Jews. The only places you will find that kind of rhetoric are from Islamic extremists and anti-Islamic propagandists.

Was this hadith written before or after Mohammed had decapitated all the Banu Qurayza after they surrendered?

It was Sa'd ibn Muadh, not Muhammad, that sentenced the men of the Banu Qurayza tribe to death for treason, and beheading was an accepted punishment for the crime of treason at that point in history.
