From Vatican News' Deputy Editorial Director, Massimiliano Menichetti:

How much longer must we wait? What more must we witness before we stop the barbarity of war... an appeal recently relaunched by Pope Leo XIV? A cry is raised each day from Gaza.

In a world that is informed and connected, where every event is documented and broadcast in images and sound, people are dying of deprivation. Technology records suffering but does not cure it. Faced with such inhumanity, indifference is not an option. We cannot become numb or turn away after seeing such suffering.

Political leaders and governments must not remain silent.

What is happening in Gaza is insane, barbaric, genocidal. Why isn't everyone condemning this?

It's in the news everyday now depending on which one follows. It is truly insane but geopolitical Israel has an agenda and they can not and will not stop until they get what they want.

The futility of putting any kind of effort into the matter. Israel is indifferent to world opinion and the US will fund/enable them regardless of what happens.

Sadly, that's true. Netanyahu said there was no starvation in Gaza, and Trump contradicted that. Maybe Trump can use his strange power over people and do something worthwhile. The right peoole need to be horrified by this. It has gone on way too long.

It's difficult to say who the 'right people' [with the right type of influence and power] need to be, but the following article might be a nod in the right direction:

Of course, I can always do the arm-chair quarterbacking in hope and prayer that masses of innocent civilians on all sides be spared, but unfortunately, my little voice doesn't register even a blip on anyone's radar in the international peace-making scene.

Ain't war hell?
Mandatory MASH:

Hawkeye: War isn't Hell. War is war, and Hell is Hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.
Father Mulcahy: How do you figure, Hawkeye?
Hawkeye: Easy, Father. Tell me, who goes to Hell?
Father Mulcahy: Sinners, I believe.
Hawkeye: Exactly. There are no innocent bystanders in Hell. War is chock full of them - little kids, cripples, old ladies. In fact, except for some of the brass, almost everybody involved is an innocent bystander

Are Christians still supporting Israel and its starvation of the people of Gaza? From the OP, Catholics are not, according to the Pope.

These are not:

This Baptist church in Gaza is not:

These are not:

These are not:

But while addressing the Evangelical Conference in Jerusalem, think Paula White, Netanyahu claims there is no starvation in Gaza.

Are Evangelicals still supporting this?

Certainly not. Not even all Evangelicals are Christian Zionists.

Good point. Are many Evangelicals still supporting Israel?
As I understand it, most Christians support Israel's right to exist, even as they deplore the actions of Netanyahu's government.

Britain and France seem to think so, and they are the ones who got us into this mess to begin with. No, the Christians who support Netanyahu are just cheerleaders. The real reasons our government does are much more secular.

That seems right. What do you think about a two state solution?

A large clump of those who fully support Israel in a 'do or die' fashion are found among those who hold to Dispensationalist eschatology.

Thank you, Philo! I know, and I thank you for saying it out loud. How is it that a theological (eschatological) position can justify a horrendous reality? Well, to be fair, maybe good souls are changing their mind at this very moment. I wish they would respond to this thread. We need to hear about their transformation. Everybody needs to say this is not good.

I'm extremely skeptical of anything the UN puts out. I don't believe a thing Hamas puts out. Both groups have lurd through their teeth. Hamas steals the food. If you read the information carefully you will find that the artcles are worded very carefully. Hamas doesnt steal from the UN they say. But the tvey go on to say "criminal gangs" are stealing the food. Gee, who do you think is involved with these criminal gangs? Even the US has said Hamas isnt stealing food oeople say. Except thats not what the report actually says. It says Hamas hasnt stolen from the US.

There are accusations that criminal gangs steal the food. Thats Hamas. The UN refuses to allow the IDF to escort them and refuses to go in with mass truck loads. The UN is the one refusing. Not Israel.

I don't doubt there are hungry people there, but its not because Israel is keeping the food out.
