The man, who identified himself only as Connor, appeared on an episode of Jubilee’s YouTube debate series Surrounded for an episode published Monday in which Hasan, a progressive commentator, would debate 20 “far right conservatives.”

“Quite frankly, if Trump is anti-constitution, good,” Connor said, before declaring his belief in “autocracy”

After quoting Nazi political theorist Carl Schmitt and expressing admiration for Spanish dictator Francisco Franco ...

[Host Hasan said] “I think you can say, ‘I’m a fascist,’” ... The man laughed and said: “Yeah, I am.”

That was a crazy episode of Surrounded, but nothing there surprised me. There are people on the far right that are now openly supporting fascism as they see it as a way to get the country back to 'good' old values. That said, I think Connor and those that think like him are not fully comprehending what they are endorsing, or if they do, they don't think it will hurt them.

It's come out this particular individual is a Groyper with a history of advocating positions that are anti-semitic, white nationalist, accelerationist, theocratic and authoritarian. He's also a long time (online) associate of Nick Fuentes.

While the "crowd funding" concept as a whole wasn't a terrible idea...it's easy to see how it'd go off the rails pretty quickly.

Crowd-funding has become a vehicle (no pun intended) by which people can show their true colors and simply fleece other people.


20k for a guy expressing he's a fascist concerns me less than 500k to someone who stabs minors (that ends up being used for his family to get luxury rentals)...just sayin'


At first I thought maybe the Hasan referenced in the story was Hasan Piker...in which case, I'd be tempted to give money to anyone who trolled him and made him cry, but it appears it's a different guy.

After watching the video, it looks like the left has found their own version of Ben Shapiro in the form of Mehdi Hasan lol.

Talks really fast - check
Reiterates shallow talking points - check
Asks loaded questions - check
Steers every conversations to areas where they can 'dunk' on debate opponents with memorized cherry picked stats and "factoids" - check


I saw that performance on "surrounded" as no different than this performance (in terms of quality)




Perhaps that "surrounded" show should just have a Hasan vs. Shapiro - and offer every viewer a free bottle of Aspirin.
