EDIT: Okay, a Google search tells me that it's Nina Jankowicz, who was the head of the Disinformation Governance Board for the first month of its four month existence. (I really didn't expect the Google search of "truth ministry mary poppins" to turn up anything, because I thought "Mary Poppins" was an insult you made up, but the Internet surprised me.) I totally missed the existence of the DGS back in 2022.

I think that falsehoods being spread through TV, YouTube, and social media are a serious problem, but for Americans -- who are generally distrustful of the government anyway -- creating a government board
like this was a bad idea. The solution has to lie somewhere else.

This is, actually, a positive that I see in the courthouse arrests (as contrasted with arrests in other locations). If the court has said that they need to leave the country, then there's been an actual judicial review of the case, so we're pretty confident that the person isn't a citizen or a legal resident.

It would be nice if the government could exercise some courtesy (e.g., "you have 30 days to gather your belongings and leave the country"), but there is at least due process here.

Civil rights are those rights guaranteed to individuals as citizens of a nation. Illegal aliens are not citizens of the nation they occupy. That's what makes them illegal aliens.

The 14th amendment says “person”, (not “citizen”), so I don’t think your argument holds.

The 14th amendment contains the word "civil" one time:

Section 3
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress...

Well we were talking about civil rights, and then you shifted that to human rights, after the civil rights argument didn't hold up. But so far you haven't pointed out why you shifted it to human rights. You just dropped the term into the conversation without giving it any context.
