All I see is a community coming together to protect each other from state sponsored aggression.
Not surprising. I think people are learning more and more about the radical left.

I believe marijuana is legal in California. And I don't care if illegals are working there or people are protesting. I think Trump and Red State laws need to leave California alone. Also I think all California federal taxes shouldn't go to trump or Red States. It should go to California. Do what damage you want to do in Red Stated. But trump and Red states need to stop trying to force your nonsense on California.

Marijuana is legal. Being in the country illegally isn't. Hiring illegal aliens isn't. Never has been.

It's okay to be in the country illegally if you're an agricultural worker?
Oh right that idea got scrapped because the people on Medicaid are going to fill the vacancies.

What idea?

Trump 'working on' deportation exemptions for illegal farm and hospitality workers

President Donald Trump said Tuesday he is exploring deportation exemptions for illegal migrants working on farms or in the hospitality industry who could be swept up in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids.

Trump said workers who have spent years in the U.S. labor force, particularly in the agriculture and hospitality industries, may be eligible for a new type of work permit that would allow them to remain in the country legally, pay taxes and continue working but without receiving citizenship.

But then marching Medicaid recipients to the fields became the new hotness so…

So he's working on a maybe.

Yeah, that's absolutely most definitely the plan.

Able-bodied? I thought it was supposed to be grandma on dialysis. It's a shame the able-bodied will have to work 20 hrs per week to get free medical care, when for 35 years I've enjoyed the privilege of working 40 hrs per week to get medical care I have to pay for.

Anyways that does seem to solve the "who will pick the lettuce?" dilemma. Winner winner veggie dinner.

I know Nancy Pelosi said we needed them to pick the crops, I say let Californians pick their own marijuana. To put it bluntly, we are a nation of laws, and Californians should respect those laws or find themselves another country. Ridding the nations of the gangs, the cartels, and terrorists is a slow process and it will take even longer to find all of the missing children. All because the Biden administration decided to exploit immigrants and violate our border laws in a quest for more power and control. The protesters were tipped off, but fortunately eight children still were rescued. We don't know how many more hundreds of thousands are still victims of human trafficking. Don't you think these kids have a right to the protection of our federal child labor laws?

Let's not all panic. The marijuana will be picked. There has to be a middle road between open borders and wide net deportation. Our economy needs many of these workers, and in my experience, the vast majority of them are quality people. The numbers Trump wants to deport exceed the criminals he can catch. The rest are quality folks and need to be incorporated. If we want to make America great again, we want these hard working, family oriented, God-fearing people to be a part of our country (because they already are).

Yes, we have a LEGAL system for immigrants that was working quite well until the Biden administration violated our border laws, lied about it, and let in over 10 million people in four years. We want quality people who love America and will abide by our laws.

This is one of those incidents where people just need to concede to common sense. (even if it means :gasp: letting the other side win in certain circumstances)

While marijuana is legal in most states now (which I feel is a good thing btw)

Employing underaged, undocumented people to work in in that field, is not.

This is one of those "pick your battles" situations (at least if you want objections to be taken seriously)

Gun stores are also legal in most states, if a gun store owner was employing underaged people (against the law) to process gun sale transactions, the "it's no big deal" people for this story, would think it was a much bigger deal.

My advice to more liberal people on this one is "don't take the bait".

Don't advocate for a position that's objectively stupid just so you can "oppose the Trump administration", this is exactly the kind of ammo they want to use against you.

Any legitimate gripes you may have with Trump's ICE policies are now going to be immediately met with "Yeah? You're the same people who defended 14 year olds working at pot farms so what value does your opinion have?"

Being exposed to marijuana at such a young age is also detrimental to future health. What has been most disturbing is that so many people in support of illegal entry seem to shrug off the huge toll created by human trafficking. What was true evil in the Biden administration was not keeping track of so many, particularly children. That means that investigators have no where to start, virtually the only way to rescue trafficked women and children in the sex trade is to follow the leads on the Internet and locally. That takes a lot of time, especially when blue cities won't cooperate. As to those trafficked for labor, raiding farms and plants seems the best way to find them. But so many on the left are not cooperating and a number are interfering.

It's not clear what the actual facts are, after all our information comes from ICE.
Employing underaged, undocumented people to work in in that field, is not.
According to the article the "underage" workers were "one as young as 14". Farm work is *legal* at those ages. I worked in the fields from 14-16 in the summer many years ago.

As for their "immigration/legal" status, again all we have is ICE as told to us by FCN. We'll probably never know. There are *lots* of people that are technically deportable and can legally work (TPS, paroled asylum seekers, etc.) The news is *full* of stories of such people being removed/deported/detained or sent to the camps.

What makes you think we care about your "advice" from the other side.

There were around 300,000 minors that the Biden administration lost track of. There was very little information to go on, so far the Trump administration has located about 5000 unaccompanied minors and reunited them with their loved ones. The administration needs cooperation from the blue states.
