I'll answer my own question. Approximately 10,700.
I checked. NWS had 4800 workers and lost 550. They had been 5% understaffed and now are 19% under. Saw this on Google.

A 34x convicted felon who mocks the constitution and threatens and bullies others into submission has deeply earned the disrespect of many. I am amazed at the self-control others display.

I wonder how "understaffed" is established and by whom? And also how understaffed the NWS in charge of Kerr County, Texas was due to anything the Trump administration did.

I have been looking for decades and no president has received such a high level of hatred and hostility. Not even Bush 2. Have you ever seen a Biden or Obama version of this?:

skynews-trump-baby-trump-blimp_6036438.jpg

Really ? no other president received such high level hatred?

I recall that the 45th President of the United States promoted a false claim regarding the birthplace of the 44th President, alleging he was born in Kenya and therefore ineligible to serve as President.

Or perhaps Staffing had to be increased as climactic disasters overwhelmed our country due to our failure to move towards green energy for a safer future for us and future Generations.

I'll take that as yes the left displays considerably more hatred towards Trump, than the right ever did towards Biden.
Also as a result of his character.

Respect has to be earned--not by getting a title but through the hard work of doing the job thoroughly and unselfishly. Using that barometer, Trump has gotten far more respect than he has earned, and I am absolutely Clueless as to why some people give it to him.

I've never seen the right direct so much abject seething hatred towards Joe Biden, the way the left has towards Trump.
Then you haven’t been looking too hard. People couldn’t even accept he had actually won. They had to go make up all kinds of ridiculous scenarios about the election.

You get what you give.

I’ve never seen a more hateful person elected to such high office.

This is about the claim that the level of hatred directed at Biden by the right, is equal to the level of hatred directed at Trump by the left. Are they equal or not?
No they are not equal. The right clearly has much more hatred towards the left than the other way around.

Or perhaps that's been the claim to help finance the 8 trillion dollars rich Green Industry.

Were there countless hateful effigy parades all over the US for years accompanying that? On a scale of 1 to 10, it's been maybe at brief times as high as a 5 for Biden or Obama, whereas it's been a solid 10 for Trump on a daily basis for the last 9 years.

For eight years, the 45th President challenged the 44th President’s birthplace and credibility. Yet you argue that an effigy of the 44th is more serious; this reflects a biased perspective.

Okie dokie. Can we get back on topic?

It is a recurring pattern among some MAGA supporters in this forum to refer back to statements such as “let’s return to the original topic” or “please follow the rules and stay on topic” when they are unable to continue an argument.

I am a good sport and will fully comply with their request.

The original poster politicized a natural disaster and human loss to criticize President Trump. Tragedies like this have occurred before funding cuts to weather services or FEMA, and will continue regardless of future policy changes. The loss of life is tragic and should not be used for political purposes.

IMO, based on the following timeline article:

1) The weather service forecast was accurate based on our current understanding of weather.

At the Weather Service office overseeing San Antonio and Austin, meteorologists held briefings on the forecast for local emergency managers Thursday morning, agency officials said. The agency issued a flood watch at 1:18 p.m. Thursday through early Friday, acknowledging “the potential for a lower probability but much higher impact flood event overnight.”
The flood watch in effect through 7 a.m. Friday cautioned that 1 to 2 inches of widespread rainfall was likely, and that a narrow band of rainfall totaling 3 to 5 inches could develop, likely causing flooding. Even as of late Thursday, the meteorologists at the San Antonio office predicted a risk of 5 to 7 inches of rainfall, on the higher end.

2) The first falsh flood warning was issued at 1:14 AM, a time when most people are asleep. There's only so much the local authorities can do to warn people at that time of night.

The Weather Service issued a flash flood warning that initiated cellphone-based alerts across Kerr and Bandera counties at 1:14 a.m. Agency officials said that was more than three hours before water was reported on low road crossings in Kerr County.

3) The warming atomosphere and oceans are directly contributing to these intense rain events. Such events are happening more frequently. As a country, we need to evaluate the risk to low-lying areas that are vulnerable. For example, summer camps along rivers that have a history of flash floods are probably not a good idea.

I tried to reduce that aspect by removing 'DOGE-gutted' from the original article title. But it's not me or the OP article, but Texas officials pointing the finger at NWS. In reality, I think there's some truth in this case to the 'when you point your finger, three fingers point back at you'. We've yet to hear a good accounting of what local officials did or didn't do in the face of the warnings NWS provided.

Take it here: Which US President since 2000 has had the most hate directed at them? See how long it takes me to fold ;)

Well the NYT article said "Texas officials". But that's really vague. It's likely that a state as big as Texas has a vast number of "officials".
