If the liberals are so concerned for the poor why have many mainly in sanctuary cities chosen to take far better care of the illegals than their own citizens who are poor or homeless veterans or just the homeless in general? Look at the communist running for mayor in NY. He promises utopia to the poor in reality only want in the end to lord it over the masses. Government run grocery stores, government over the means of production, eliminating billionaires who build the businesses and create the jobs. Why do so many fall for this ruse? It is because the liberal ideology has so influenced and lied to the gullible that many think liberal politicians care about them but nothing could be further from the truth. BYW there are liberal Republicans just fewer than on the Democrat side of the isle.
Well by all means, let's see your quantitative break down of how much better off the liberals take care of immigrants over homeless veterans. I'm sure your in depth analysis will be very illustrative and informative.

Ok, he wins the mayors seat, gets his city run grocery store or stores, how do funds from the entire country become involved? There’re some steps missing here.
Relax. It was part of a generalized question.

If it is solution NY. Then everyone in New York City will pay for it. One of the highest cost of living cities in the US whose taxes are already through the roof will be taxed even greater.

Yeah, that is a great plan.

Good or bad plan NYC funding it is not “everyone in the US” having to pay for it.

and it is having an effect - but not the one he thinks it will

Vice President JD Vance shared a text message from a Republican Congressman who was initially undecided on a bill but became a firm supporter after witnessing House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ performance, likely referring to Jeffries’ marathon floor speech during the vote on President Trump’s tax and spending mega bill. The text, as posted by Vance on X, read: “I was undecided on the bill but then I watched Hakeem Jeffries performance and now I’m a firm yes.” Several X posts echoed this sentiment, with some users suggesting Jeffries’ speech inadvertently bolstered support for the bill among Republicans,

How is it effecting the Democratic House members?

  • Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH): Posts on X specifically noted her appearing to doze off during Jeffries' speech.
  • Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-TX): She was observed with her head down and eyes closed during the speech, as reported by the Daily Mail and echoed in posts on X.
Additionally, reports mentioned "multiple Democrats" were seen with their eyes closed, but no other specific names were provided
He spoke for nearly 9 hours to waste their time, get headlines, irritate a certain group of people prone to irritation, and make clear to the public where the allegiance of the politicians people voted for lie in order to get them to think about their next vote. So… Mission accomplished.

"Last year, a special committee found that taxpayers in Tennessee spend an extra $3.9 million per year to educate unaccompanied alien children in public schools and another $240,000 to provide them with state-funded health care.

Florida, too, has raised concerns over the cost of illegal immigration. Even before the Biden-inspired surge across the border, the state was paying $2 billion per year to provide health care and education for the nearly 800,000 illegal aliens living there.

Other services drain public purses, as well. Last year in New York, a $2.1 billion state fund paying unemployment and stimulus benefits to illegal aliens was exhausted in just three months

Last year, Philadelphia elected to budget $300,000 to publicly fund immigration attorneys for aliens facing deportation. The New York City Council budgeted $16.6 million the same year for the same purpose. Local taxpayers there should expect actual costs to exceed those budgets, as the numbers of illegal aliens, cases and appeals continue to rise.

Certainly, that’s been the case in Chicago, a city that continually increases its funding for its Legal Protection Fund and refuses to allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement access to police databases and information.

And then there are the costs associated with crime. Crimes committed by illegal aliens had been declining for years before Biden opened the borders. Since then, those numbers have skyrocketed in virtually every category of crime, from homicide and manslaughter to robbery and theft, from trafficking in drugs and weapons to sexual offenses.

Southern border governors are now bussing some illegal immigrants to New York City, Washington and Chicago, giving the mayors of those unashamedly pro-open borders and sanctuary cities a taste of what they’ve had to deal with for years.

And the mayors don’t like it a bit. New York City’s Eric Adams calls the situation there “horrific.”

“We need help,” pleads D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

This is typical of many on the left. They push for a supposedly compassionate, globalist utopia. Then, when reality sets in and their pie in the sky agenda comes crashing down, they cry for help and bailouts."

This is just one listing , if you really cared you could find plenty yourself. You are not interested in facts, just liberal propaganda.

The USPS isn't a for-profit agency. It's mandated to be revenue-neutral.
And it has never covered its own costs. We tax payers have. How is that any better?

That's not true - it did actually break even for a few years in the early 2000s. But I'm not sure what your point is - the government is in the business of providing services to its citizens, not turning a profit.

Last time I went to the post office I blew my top on account of the rudest service I had ever recieved on account of them refusing to give me the po box that I already paid for online, because she said I had to have a local address... I think she thought I was a homeless person, so she wanted to cause problems because she's the kind of person who probably wears a mask in her car, alone, while driving in the middle of nowhere. Yeah, I was staying in hotels when I first came to NorCal, but so what!?!?! I have to recieve mail somehow. And if the website allowed me to have it, what skin is it off her back? I had even already forwarded all my mail.

I HATE the USPS.

You do realize this does not support your contention, correct? This does nothing to compare expenditures between immigrants and homeless veterans. One begins to believe your claims were spurious and your personal attacks are attempts to distract from this lack of data.

What which video where?

Who is this text from again? "As read by JD Vance" does not exactly lend credibility to the story given JD's past claims.

Wow if lying were lost credibilty for libs, the democrat party along with their media supporters would long have been toast. Oh wait, they are...

Like the post office?
Notice it’s called the United States Postal Service.
It’s an “agency” that provides mail to every home or domicile within our great Nation; it’s not required to turn a profit.
Do we ask that the armed services operate in the black?
When has the Coast Guard made any money?

In the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, the USPS reported controllable income of $968 million, more than double the $472 million reported in the same quarter of the previous year.

Why are they spending more than double from a year ago?

They take is 79 billion dollars a year in fees and sales

When they double their expense, it is you and I that pay the deficit.

FedEx provides the same type of service and is profitable why is that? Out of the 87 billion they netted 4.2.

What has the speech succeeded in doing?

Your post has confused me. Since when is income the same as spending? You seem to have made a rather major mistake there. And, looking at their quarterly report, apparently the added business of political flyers, as well as some price hikes, attributed to the much higher controllable income. I don't see any "double the spending" from a year ago.
