Ah, melodrama. What I said, denial of medical treatment to those in poverty. After all we all have to die.
Is that described in the bill, or is that just a claim made by opponents? How is increasing the amount we spend on interest payments reducing "wasteful spending"?
Wasteful spending and mismanagement doesn't keep poor people healthy.
Well if he could prove he mattered…Ah, so let's be generous and say that 10% of the Medicaid spending is based on "wasteful spending". That leaves 90% funding heath care - health care that 12 million people won't be receiving. Too bad for the poor dude on dialysis.
You forgot about the mismanagement part. And there's also the fraud part. Along with that my guess is all I have to do to get on Medicaid is become a junkie, which will make me jobless and give me lots of medical problems. Or just take such poor care of myself that I'm unemployable and have lots of health problems.Ah, so let's be generous and say that 10% of the Medicaid spending is based on "wasteful spending". It's described in the bill. It increases the national debt by a significant amount. How is that a reduction in "wasteful spending"?Is that described in the bill, or is that just a claim made by opponents?
Could you post a little cut and paste snippet of where it says "this bill is designed to increase the national debt by a significant amount" or words to that effect? It's described in the bill. It increases the national debt by a significant amount. How is that a reduction in "wasteful spending"?
Do you really think playing silly word games strengthens your position? You know full well that it say says that no where in the bill but that no one denies the included spending provisions in this bill adds significantly to the debt.Could you post a little cut and paste snippet of where it says "this bill is designed to increase the national debt by a significant amount" or words to that effect?
No one? Have you heard from everyone?Do you really think playing silly word games strengthens your position? You know full well that it say says that no where in the bill but that no one denies the included spending provisions in this bill adds significantly to the debt.
Yes. Now, are you going to answer the question or continue to play silly games? No one? Have you heard from everyone?
The reduction I was talking about has to do with Medicaid reform. Medicaid is what I've been talking about all along. Next time ask me a question in regard to what I'm talking about, instead of moving the goal post, and you'll get a straighter answer.Yes. Now, are you going to answer the question or continue to play silly games?
But I thought the US was going to go bankrupt without reform? Is it only social security and medicare that require reform to keep us from this dismal fate? The reduction I was talking about has to do with Medicaid reform. Medicaid reform is what I'm addressing in this thread. First line of the OP is "....to the 600k+ Medicaid recipients in North Carolina". Stay on topic please. No more derailing please. But I thought the US was going to go bankrupt without reform? Is it only social security and medicare that require reform to keep us from this dismal fate?
Ah, of course, silly me. Per your claim we need this bill to control medicaid spending so we don't bankrupt the US. The fact that the bill has other spending that bankrupts the US we can't discuss. Brilliant.Medicaid reform is what I'm addressing in this thread. First line of the OP is "....to the 600k+ Medicaid recipients in North Carolina". Stay on topic please. No more derailing please.
Overall wasteful spending across the board is what will bankrupt the US. It seems everyone has forgotten about DOGE, even though it was treated as a really big deal recently. Apparently it's have a cow and then move onto the next thing to be outraged over. So far I haven't seen anyone mention how this bill entails wasteful spending. The keyword being wasteful, as opposed to just spending. Lots of the usual theatrics and melodrama indeed.Ah, of course, silly me. So if the spending is not "wasteful" it will somehow not bankrupt the US? How does that work?Overall wasteful spending across the board is what will bankrupt the US. Spending on necessities isn't what leads to bankruptcy. Wasteful spending is what leads to bankruptcy. When someone is on the verge of bankruptcy, spending on necessities adds to their debt. But in the long run cutting out wasteful spending is what reduces their debt.So if the spending is not "wasteful" it will somehow not bankrupt the US? How does that work?
Leftists do that everywhere. In the run up to our provincial elections they repeated the same bald-faced lie to terrify seniors saying that the conservatives want to get rid of their family doctor and make healthcare private so they have to pay for it. They know they have the old leftist media, watched by a lot of seniors, to parrot their lies. It’s no secret democrats are lying about the big beautiful bill, in the same way they always do. Claiming cuts to SS and Medicare, Medicare for our seniors which the same old lie they have used for years.
