You forgot about the mismanagement part. And there's also the fraud part. Along with that my guess is all I have to do to get on Medicaid is become a junkie, which will make me jobless and give me lots of medical problems. Or just take such poor care of myself that I'm unemployable and have lots of health problems.

It's described in the bill. It increases the national debt by a significant amount. How is that a reduction in "wasteful spending"?

Could you post a little cut and paste snippet of where it says "this bill is designed to increase the national debt by a significant amount" or words to that effect?

Do you really think playing silly word games strengthens your position? You know full well that it say says that no where in the bill but that no one denies the included spending provisions in this bill adds significantly to the debt.

The reduction I was talking about has to do with Medicaid reform. Medicaid is what I've been talking about all along. Next time ask me a question in regard to what I'm talking about, instead of moving the goal post, and you'll get a straighter answer.

But I thought the US was going to go bankrupt without reform? Is it only social security and medicare that require reform to keep us from this dismal fate?

Ah, of course, silly me. Per your claim we need this bill to control medicaid spending so we don't bankrupt the US. The fact that the bill has other spending that bankrupts the US we can't discuss. Brilliant.

Overall wasteful spending across the board is what will bankrupt the US. It seems everyone has forgotten about DOGE, even though it was treated as a really big deal recently. Apparently it's have a cow and then move onto the next thing to be outraged over. So far I haven't seen anyone mention how this bill entails wasteful spending. The keyword being wasteful, as opposed to just spending. Lots of the usual theatrics and melodrama indeed.

So if the spending is not "wasteful" it will somehow not bankrupt the US? How does that work?

Spending on necessities isn't what leads to bankruptcy. Wasteful spending is what leads to bankruptcy. When someone is on the verge of bankruptcy, spending on necessities adds to their debt. But in the long run cutting out wasteful spending is what reduces their debt.
