"Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ." (2 Thessalonians 3:5)
This is included in God leading us. He is getting us out of self, into His own love, and here is where His leading is.
And my experience has been that first I could just stop at any moment, and trust God to guide me what to do next . . . what each footstep would be, and this could get pretty interesting . . . now knowing at each moment what God would do with me. But I was isolated . . . mainly getting my own self guided. And in me I was understanding that Jesus wants us not only to be with Him, miraculously guided at each moment. I could get self-righteous about being personally guided by God.
I needed my guiding to be deeper . . . in my heart being guided in loving.
And Hebrews 12:4-14 says we need how our Father corrects our character so we are like Jesus in love so we are pleasing to our Father like Jesus is so pleasing, and loving like Jesus . . . *all*-loving. I still need this.
And then I found God guiding me more, then, into how to relate with other Christians. There needed to be family relating with other children of God >
"submitting to one another in the fear of God." (Ephesians 5:21)
Now I see how God has us in mutual submission . . . how He guides our relating as His family. And in His family caring and sharing love, this is also all-loving love . . . for any and all people. In the praying of God's love, then, we are caring about any and all people . . . with hope for anyone to be with God in His own love and sharing as His family . . . adopted through Jesus on the cross > love "hopes all things" (in 1 Corinthians 13:7).
So, while we might be told of all the stuff of this world, our attention is guided by God to having hope for any person . . . our attention being guided, then, in prayer "for all men" >
"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men," (1 Timothy 2:1)
So, feed on God's word and trust Him for all His word guarantees He does with us. He feeds us, corrects us, and guides us in sharing with one another as His family.
This is not what you get yourself to do, but we submit to Him.
If your are going to guide your child, you need to feed your child and correct your child. And you need to bring up your child in a family with mature people to help your child to know how to relate in love. Plus, you help one another, your encourage each other to loving the way we are called >
"with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4:2)
So, we can not get here without each other, since we are members of one another. We grow together, get stronger with one another, more real in love with each other.
Yes, we will need the "longsuffering"! There are "things" we will discover about one another. And this is why we need to keep our forgiving up to date, and be ready with hope for each other > love "hopes all things" (in 1 Corinthians 13:7) > never give up hope for yourself or anyone else, then.
